Apologies for the name blunder, but the next time I listen to an SJU football broadcast will be the first. I could have sworn the Johnnie fan said Linneman, but he *did* say the guys were going nuts in the booth and dropped an F-bomb on air. It was after the apparent missed facemask early in the game in front of the SJU bench. For what it's worth, it sure looked like a facemask to me.

I highly doubt that the F-bomb was dropped on the air.  Maybe VOJ has some insight.
As to the apparent facemask, it looked like it, but I don't think it was.  I think he grabbed inside the collar of the shoulder pads (and that is with my red blinders on!).

I was listening and remember very well the facemask call and the exasperation of the SJU broadcast crew - but there absolutely was no F-bomb.  Didn't happen.
Go back to the MIAC in-game update board. There were a lot of us in the 'booth'. If that had happened we would have been all over that board. I remember comments about Mark/Brian's displeasure but well within the bounds of decency. For that matter go to the game archives. We were all listening very carefully for #13 calls.  8)

I was listening as well and didn't hear any profanity.

Tigers-Sox make up game delayed by rain.

That would be fine if they wait to start it until I get home from work.  ;D

from my vantage point, I agree with Duff. unless there is some Zapruder film to prove otherwise, I feel it was a good not call.

Couple of thoughts:

1.  The O-line took a baby step up, granted the Gustie front was nothing compared to the Cobbs.  I was really impressed by Percival.  That boy is a mountain, and from watching him, seems to have very good feet.  I wouldn't be suprised if Sowden has made his last start.

2.  Arlt should have had 25 passes thrown to him.  It didn't appear that the Johnnies had an athlete to keep him contained.

3.  Two weeks in a row with a former Johnnie on the officiating crew!  Last week Herbst and this week Steinke!  I CALL CONSPIRACY!!!!!  ::)

4.  Nice to see a lot of you and give you free beverage tickets for the party on the tundra!  Rumor has it there was even a gustie fan or two turning in tickets for free drinks.

5.  Please think and pray for me while I am attending a flippin wedding on Saturday afternoon.  Please text me updates!  However, it is an open bar, and I plan on getting myself in the same condition as I was after the BEthel game last year!!!

Fair enough, I'll let it go.

I just thought it was especially humorous coming from an older gentleman who wasn't watching with any friends and was wearing questionable attire (like I should talk with the hat I was wearing...but still). If I had to guess, it's what TDT will look like at games in 20 years. He also questioned the Schoeny Special (quick kick) to the point that myself, Frank and our other buddy got angry and sent him scurrying away in about 20 seconds.

Sounds like a guy in his "golden years"...

I cannot see, I cannot chew.
I cannot pee, I cannot screw.
My hearing stinks, no sense of smell.
My memory shrinks, I look like hell.
The golden years have come at last.
The golden years can kiss my ass!

All this talk about credibility makes me wonder if I can ever believe another Red Wing JV girls tennis story again ... :)

Duffy - Guilty, but I'll still come eat all of JR's food ;) Thanks for the hospitality guys, especially Veek!

Can anyone confirm that DustySJU is still alive and not in jail? Last time I saw him, it looked like he was going to kill someone...

So much for posting after a day of heavy drinking.
Everyday is payday in paradise.

The Cobbs start winning and the posters start coming out of the woodwork :)  Or did Moorhead just get the internet now?

It's their kickers.  They've nothing to do in practice, so, like Bill Curtis, they've found the internet.

Looks like the twins are off to Chi-Town for tomorrows tie breaker game.  Only if the twins could've taken 2 of 3 from the royals.  They could be off to florida!  Oh well.  Go Twins!

Well you kind of have to go to Florida through chi town any way

One scenario for the upcoming weeks.....
1. Oct. 18th - Concordia travels to Augsburg and loses.
2. Nov. 8th - Auggies travel the following week to Collegeville and have difficulty after the big win against a Johnnie team that has finally found a quarterback and always has a solid defense.
3. Nov. 15 - Johnnies then travel to CC the last game of the season needing a win against Coach Ramler for a 3 way share of the title.

Oh what a mess that would be.
