Does anyone know what Bethel's re-entry policy is?  If we get there at 10:00 to garner some seats, can we leave to go to the SF and then get back in?

The student ticket takers made a bit of a stink about early re-entry nearly requesting fans pay twice.  I think we just started to ignore them about the whole deal.  The real kicker is they allow the Bethel students in well ahead of visiting Johnnie fans to grab their seats.... that really steamed us.

Bethel insists on not providing extra bleachers so get there early....

On the up side Bethel does have a nice little tailgate area near the SoHo lot that has been approved for "Johnnie" use.

As Dusty indicated, we will be hosting the Stiftungsfestivities at Royaland Saturday morning. Some of us will be there by 9:00 a.m.. The tailgate party will be located by the SoHo parking lot, which is on the east side of the football stadium. We should have the grills going by 10:30. Bring a culinary delight to share. Red cups are appropriate, as is the Paris Hilton cd. :D

I vaguely remember TC explaining why Cuddy at 3rd and keeping the outfield as is would be a bad idea, but I could really use a refresher course.

Cuddy wasn't a great third baseman. I agree, it would be nice to keep his right-handed bat around, though.

A guy at church jokingly suggested we just go after A-Rod. :)

Giambi may not have the reflexes to play 3rd base, but his bat (in his prime) would be nice   ;D
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Johnnie Faithful-

I'm a bit confused right now...in the past two years, when Bethel was a legit threat to beat SJU, every other post from a Johnnie fan was about how SJU would dominate/destroy/monkeystomp Bethel.

This year, when I'm nearly positive that SJU will thump BU on saturday, thanks to BU's lack of playmakers on offense and general letdown from last year, there hasn't been any of that talk....

Are you guys really that under-confident in the current SJU team, or just really not interested in dining on crow like you have had to the past couple of years?

His bat is still not bad.  The average is down but he hit 32 home runs and had 96 RBI this past season and still a decent OBP.  Will make a nice lefthanded DH and part time 1 bagger for some team, just hopefully not the Yankees.

I think there is legitimate respect earned by Bethel's program.  SJU is willing to honor earned respect where it is due-- Concordia (with its numerous national titles) for example is given quite a bit of respect, as we know no game with the Cobbers will ever be a blow out (save last year, but that was a true anomaly).

BU has a team that won't quit and will cause SJU fits-- especially this year, as the Johnnies, quite frankly, aren't all that good and are a bit overrated.  Can the Johnnies win?  Sure.  Should they win?  Yes.  But they probably should have won last year, too...and that didn't turn out so well.

I think your score is about right, but it could go the either way as well, same score.

Well, that's one explanation.  The other is that there just isn't the same chemistry on the board with the absence of Mighty Royal, Scrubbie and some of the other Bethel boosters. :'(
