I'm often amused by the concept of eligible bachelor as opposed to desirable. :)

That's because all of us desirable men are married already.   ::)

Does this mean Hoag is back in Minnesota?? You can't even imagine how excited I am to heckle him in person at the next Gustie game!
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

Finally, we've got someone on the board who hates the Johnnies almost as much as Willy Wonka, AO, and Pat Coleman.  Things were getting a little stale for a while...

I don't hate the Johnnies. Not even their annoying fans who keep pressing people for comment on cockamamie questions and insist that nobody will be within three TDs of Mount Union all season.

I hear you on that, Coleman.  Who do those asshole Johnnie fans think they are--not only having opinions about D3 football, but also voicing those opinions.  And at a D3 football tailgate, of all places.

Simply a horrible display of fandom.  Those uppity Johnnie fans need to recognize when they are in the pressence of royalty and act accordingly.

I think it was Keith and I being cornered again on the sidelines while we were trying to get something done that prompted that memory.

Might be a great post, TDT, but it's a little selective from the memory perspective.

Loveboard? Lovehand?  Where did this walking pestilence come from anyway?

So predicting that no one will come within 3 TD's of MUC, which has a fair amount of historic substantiation, is "annoying"?  What kind of "cockamamie" questions, I wonder, have been so vexing?   While you were out, Jesus called and wants his cross back.

Ha don't flatter yourself Pat.  Do you really think that you are that important?  If you pay attention, NOBODY cares when you come to the Stiftungsfestivities (in fact most would rather you stay home or away from the tailgate).  Nobody fondles you or bows down or tells you how great you are (see: Linfield), because the truth of the matter is that you aren't.  Hopefully that spells things out nicely for you.  I don't want there to be any ambiguity here.

LOL, my bad. Perhaps a little overdramatic but in the base usage, I think fair.

TDT, whatever -- I am not even talking about the tailgate, in case you haven't noticed.

Hey TDT,

Loved your interview on JF.com with the vendor guy.

I understand you would like to donate to Catdomealumni.com but I'd rather you keep your blankets and cardboard boxes because I hear that winters in the twin cities are cold and I don't want to take away your primary shelter.

Wow.  I had no idea things were this personal.  I have never met Pat and I don't know if the Linfield fans (whose program and fans I think very highly of) kiss his butt or if he expects his butt to be kissed.  Of course He'd be welcome at the tailgate, but I hardly go myself.   I appreciate the site and he's entitled to like, dislike or be annoyed with whomever but challenges to broad-based  statements are always inevitable and should be expected.    Jeff Dubay hates North Dakota Sioux fans and the team itself simply because it's all North Dakota.  I dislike the Gophers in just about everything because they are the gophers and because they trumpeted "diversity" at the school every year but, as far as hockey is concerned, were about as provincial and as restricted as could be.  If the Johnnies and the fans are disliked or found to be annoying simply because they are St. John's, so what?  Linfield has a fair amount of detractors simply becase they are preceived as arrogant.  I am certainly not one of them even though I like to give them s#!# and I have a lot of respect for their program and for the enthusiasm and unyielding support of their fan base.

Chewey, don't worry about it. I don't usually take one or two people's opinions as indicative of the whole group. Had to figure that out at some point over the past decade on the site. :)

Well, they can limit speech on private property but I would be hard-pressed to believe that SJU, as a university, would have an actual policy about this.  Hopefully, the monks are too smart for that.  So, if one has a "Tommies Suck" t-shirt on, they will be asked to change?  All of this at an institution of higher learning ("institution" being used intentionally.... as in PC asylum masquerading as a place of higher learning)?  I think the alumni could very well make some impact on this by toning down the contributions.  It's one thing to be a person or coach dropping f-bombs around.  So now we're condemned to cheering thus, "go, team.  Run really, really fast, faster than the other team, so you can win" "to the other team:  We really hope your team plays poorly and if your team gets clobbered your still a good team and it's ok to lose...maybe you'll beat us next year"..... "Rah, team" what a bunch of mindless pc nonsense.

Chewey, if I'm not mistaken, SJU is not above this type of censorship.     I think last fall our friend Frank Rickard was sporting some apparel at the Tommie game with some humorous,  message.   Actually pretty mild as I recall.      Believe he was stopped at the gate and told to get rid of the shirt if he wanted to enter.     Very sad.
