The Terms of Service read:

5. Don't bash the Webmaster. If I didn't care so much about D-III sports, we wouldn't have this site. You won't get anywhere by giving me a hard time. Send cash instead.  Wink

I think there are some serious violations of the Terms of Service going on....I think TDT  owes PC some serious cash. ;)

And that gets to the nub of the problem I LOOOVE (to hate) arrogant Tommies.  But what do we do when the nice ones show up?  It makes me feel all guilty and such for railing like a meth head $5 short of a hit.

This post is in response to a post by a carl that LAB quoted that I am too lazy to look up and quote myself.  It was something like "things are going to continue to improve for Carleton... steal recruits from the Ivys... Ramler is amazing... etc. etc."

Here's a reality check-

1.) Ramler is gone as soon as possible.  He is a young guy, and I'm assuming that he has aspirations that are larger than small D3 school in bum*&%^, MN.  He will eventually get a better job, with a better salary at a D2 or D1 school.  And ask the Johnnies who they would rather have as the successor to Gagliardi- Jimmy G or Ramler?  Ok, now where would it be easier to have a successful football program- SJU or Carleton?  point made.

2.) Reasons that recruits from the Ivys will not come to Carleton:
a.) Ivy's are in cities.  not Northfield.  Norhtfield, quite frankly, is kinda boring.
b.) People outside of Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, and the Dakotas have heard of the Ivy's.  The same cannot be said for Carleton.
c.) When paying tuition, you are basically paying to put that college's name on your resume upon graduation.  The Ivy's are the most impressive names to put there.

The end.

This is for you, buddy.  ;)

Trust me, Carleton is not a hard sell.  Especially with Ramler as the sales man and his success as evidence.

Yes they won't get every player they want, but they will certainly get more players of a higher quality.

I hear you on that, Coleman.  Who do those asshole Johnnie fans think they are--not only having opinions about D3 football, but also voicing those opinions.  And at a D3 football tailgate, of all places.

I think it was Keith and I being cornered again on the sidelines while we were trying to get something done that prompted that memory.

Might be a great post, TDT, but it's a little selective from the memory perspective.

Gee Pat, as two members of the .001% of all Americans who care more about D3 football than I do, I was very interested in hearing your and Keith's opinion on something as shocking as "#3 UW-Whitewater 21, #2 Mary Hardin-Baylor 0, 1st Quarter".  I guess I just didn't comprehend the importance of what you guys were up to.  In restrospect, I'm shocked that Keith was able to spare a couple seconds to comment on how surprised he was by the score.

I'm running short on time--can someone take this picture and photoshop it to say "D3 Football.  Serious Business." for me?  Thanks in advance.

Honestly, would anyone (besides TC and his Carnac like call in his season outlook) ...

Let's keep the dream alive, LAB!  In the past, a 1-loss MIAC with their only loss to an undefeated MIAC champ has almost always made the NCAA field.  If you look at it that way, the Auggies still control their own destiny.

Yes we STILL can!

10 more wins!
10 more wins!
10 more wins!

Keep hope alive!

Just finished watching the "Finale Debate".  Can't bring myself to like McCain or to trust Obama, therefore, I have decided to vote for either finsleft or PC for President.

I know that if fins is elected the price of beer will never go up and that makes me want to vote for him.  I am afraid if PC is elected TDT will be arrested for treason and I will shipped to Guantamano Bay.

Fins for Pres!

Ha don't flatter yourself Pat.  Do you really think that you are that important?  If you pay attention, NOBODY cares when you come to the Stiftungsfestivities (in fact most would rather you stay home or away from the tailgate).  Nobody fondles you or bows down or tells you how great you are (see: Linfield), because the truth of the matter is that you aren't.  Hopefully that spells things out nicely for you.  I don't want there to be any ambiguity here.

Cheers,

The Last Word is yours as always...

I love it when a plan comes together.

TDT are you SJULOVE? You make 250k, right?
Or Pat is that you, because you certainly make 250k with this site and merchandise and speaking fees, right?
I didn't even have to go to the political thread to get my laughs.

If that were true I wouldn't have this pesky 9-5 job. :)

71: Yes, that's the plan.

Be careful what you ask for. :-\  Besides, it depends on how the real estate is moving.  These days he could have a lot of free time on his hands. :P

Anyone know the status of USTD receiver Tony Magarit?  He was a starter last year with over 50 catches, got hurt in the pre-season and hasn't played since?  Out for the year or back anytime soon?

good article on Carleton receiver Matt Frank.

After the Olaf game doctors were telling him his season/career could be over.  Later in the week after a few more opinions it is determined that he should be able to play after sitting out a week.  ( quite an extreme change in the doctor's opinions)  He will be suiting up this weekend.  Not a bad turnaround.  Would have been a tough blow as he had to miss most of last year with a spleen injury.

Looking forward to the game Saturday.  Arlt is a great football player and will definitely give carleton a run for their money.  Hopefully the team has turned their focus to Gustavus after last week's high emotion game.

Prediction:

Carleton 24
Gustavus 14
