Anyone know the status of USTD receiver Tony Magarit?  He was a starter last year with over 50 catches, got hurt in the pre-season and hasn't played since?  Out for the year or back anytime soon?

Out for the year with a hamstring injury.  He'll be back next fall for his last year.

SJU/USTD Cali connection.  I wonder if these two have simlilar connections to Snoop? :D

It appears that Frank has the high schools switched around as I believe that John attended Marin Catholic. Tmerton will let us know if this is correct when he wakes up :P

Yup.  Frank's blog currently has it backwards.  (Frank has since fixed it - thanks, Frank.)

Not only did he miss that, but he also missed the blindingly obvious: Tommies Suck!  There must be a good blog post on that topic.

Stop me if I've told this one before.  Mrs. Tmerton teaches at a Catholic high school out here and last year they had a priest from Africa visit her school.  Turns out he was in the United States, at least in part, to do some postgraduate work at UST.  When Mrs. Tmerton found out she made sure to tell him that she had a son at SJU ... and then asked if he knew that "Tommies suck"!  Point made, even if on a cross-cultural basis. ;D

And almost certainly either a typo, or a 'default value' when attendance gets left blank on the score sheet.

My comment was actually maybe too subtle of a jab at AO

Aww ... cut the guy some slack. How would you feel if no one in your whole neighborhood (UMAC) was willing to come out and play with you? ;)

You would think with Northwestern being playoff bound there would be all kinds of fan traffic over there! ;)

Oh Duff you are such a character!  ;)  I am willing to work as a SJU Ca. recruiter in exchange for a  couple of those burgers and brats you guys keep talking about. :D

SUMMIT!!!!!

Long time lurker here....finally posting

Fins-- nice interview with your protege,  Mr Decker, in TSN Daily yesterday... wonder if he goes early NFL or MLB? As good as he's become on the football field, I still think he's a better pro prospect in baseball.

*******
For the first time in a decade, I feel good about UST's chances this Saturday, not as good as I feel before a basketball/hockey/baseball/track Tommie/Johnnie meeting but a lot better than I've felt in years. I've heard rumors the UST coaching staff realizes how important a win over SJU would be and has spent much time pouring over tape/video/film as far back as possible to be ready for any of John's old tricks/strategies.  I like the Tommies' multi-faceted offense-- RB Wartman is the real deal, a bruising back along the lines of Barkley or BU's Johnson and Porta, and the receivers are fleet. For a change, it seems that Sauer if finally getting protection, which is making a big difference.  21-14, purple (I think)

********
I'm sure that Caruso and staff are even more nervous about the season finale vs NW, especially if they read any of AO's posts. Those posts frighten me... but psychotic babble often has that effect.

********
Not to belabor the reffing of the AUG/CAR game, but even the Strib felt that the last 3 TDs of the first half probably would have been overturned on replay...costing CC 7 points and Augs 14. Was kind of humorous to see one of the zebras pull up lame in the thrid quarter, apparently from trying to keep up with the rapid pace of the game. Personally, I dont think the reffing impacted the outcome. The difference in Berg's play did. He was cool and in control first half and harried in the 4th quarter and that was the game.  the kid has an amazing arm to be able to throw the ball as much as he does and the WRs are awfully good. A modest running game woudl give Auggie the kind of balance that could land them in the postseason

Won't be at the game.

Unfortunately, I think your prediction might be fairly accurate.  I think it might be lower scoring than that, though.

At the Hamline game, the Mayor was heard yelling to the SJU coaches to get TMert 2 into the game more.     This young feller is very fast and hits like a Mack truck.

Johnnie Red

Coming to you live from Boulder! :D So this morning I park my car at the Park `N Go. The driver of the shuttle notices my CU cap and starts asking me about the Buffs' season. We get into college football and I mention that I went to St. John's. The shuttle driver tells me that he went to UST. Turns out he graduated the same year as I did. Let's see, the Johnnie is a judge, the Tommie a shuttle driver. Any chance he also has a part-time job at McDonald's? ::)

Then I get to the airport and run into a couple who were also flying to Denver. Turns out they were going to CU for parent's weekend and have a daugther who is a first year student at CU and a son who is a senior at SJU. Talk about connections!

That's it for now. GO JOHNNIES!!!!!!!!!!!! GO BUFFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
