At the Hamline game, the Mayor was heard yelling to the SJU coaches to get TMert 2 into the game more.

How many Hamm's did the Mayor consume before said yelling???   :D

If he'd put the money down for the luxury box above the concession stand, the coaches might even have heard him. ;D

Watch me get this wrong, but in my defense I was a Methodist when I attended SJU and only became a Catholic three years ago.  And if I get it wrong, it's the surest way to get someone to say what is right (so in that respect I'm still doing a good service).
A 'Father' (Fr) is a priest, ordained to hold mass and lead the flock.
A 'Brother' (Br) is a monk, qualified to do lots of other important monk stuff (for instance scholarship) that doesn't include holding mass.
Can I keep my membership card?

Thank you! Info helps!
Out of order, I'll show you out of order! You don't know what out of order is, Mr Task! I'd show you but I'm too old, I'm too tired, and I'm too f----n blind. If I were the man I was 5 years ago, I'd take a FLAMETHROWER to this place. Out of order, who the hell do you think you're talking to?

Not bad but a little off.
A Father is indeed a priest.  A priest is someone who is ordained (receives the sacrament of holy orders) with the power to administer other sacraments, the two most noteworthy being the eucharist ('saying Mass') and confession/reconciliation (i.e., forgivng sins).  They also can do other things, including teaching
A Brother is not ordained and is not able to say Mass or hear confessions. (Note: one does not have to be a priest to administer all of the sacraments, which is another story, but the eucharist and confesion/reconciliation do require an ordained priest).  Historically brothers were often less educated than the priests and often focused more on tasks involving physical labor.  That has been less of a difference more recently and obviously was not a point of distinction with Br. Dietrich.
A monk can be either a priest or a brother but is someone who joins a religious community whose religious life and works (at least historically) center on, but are not necessarily limited to, a cloistered environment (a monastary) where prayer is the primary focus of their daily lives.  There are degrees of cloistered life, some more cloistered than others, but the members of these communities can all be called monks.  Benedictines are communities of monks.  There are other religious communities that do not center on a cloistered life; the Jesuits are an example.

Thank you as well! More precise info helps even more!

That is very sad about Br. Dietrich.  He's an awfully nice man.  A Brother "BR." is someone who is not authorized to perform an of the sacraments -- Baptism, Marriage, Extreme Unction, etc.  -- unlike a Priest (FR.) who is.  Nonetheless, a brother is someone who has made permanent vows to serve Christ and be a member of a particular order -- Benedictine, Norbertine, Dominican, Franciscan, Jesuit.  They go through the novitiate and all of the discerning steps that a priest member goes through but they have no priest-like authority.  Even a Deacon can administer some sacraments.  Brothers are simply people like me who commit their lives to the church, Christ and a particular order.  They use their lay skills -- lawyer, administrator, doctor, etc. -- to serve Christ, the Church and the order.  Nuns or "sisters" are similar.  Brothers are highly educated, usually, but they may not wish to go through another 4-8 years of study to be a priest.  Many times, brothers, have lived "regular" lay-person lives for awhile prior to becoming a brother.  All brothers, priests and Deacons that reside in a monastery are called "monks."  Hope it helps.

Wow, you Catholic experts are everywhere! Thanks, guys!

Just what exactly does that mean ... can you perhaps translate for the great unwashed ... are you threatening a Jungle Jim Luscutoff on us?

Derek Boogaard is a major enforcer in NHL. He, and his brother have a "fighting camp" for teenagers.
If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

My brother-in-law had a picnic today at Fawkner Park for his 38th birthday.  In fact, we sat in the shade under this tree.  Amazing Google Maps.

Good idea.  It's 9:38 and I plan on listening to the whole game tomorrow, so that's a 5am start.  See you folks bright and early.
