The prognosticators at www.Johnniefootball.com register their subjective however mixed review regarding The Johnnies vs The Tommies today.

It's not the goat nor the ax nor the cobb, in this case it's just for "all the marbles".

It will be tough to miss the Johnnie-Tommie game today. When you have a son (law school), sister, sister-in-law and niece who are Tommies, it can get rather intense. I hope the tailgate party goes well. Hopefully my son will make an appearance.

The Colorado-Kansas State game does not start until 5:00 p.m. for some ungodly reason. Heading off to Estes Park and the Rocky Mountain National Park this morning with my daughter.

Big game for the Cobbers today at Auggie Tech.  It will take a very good defensive effort to keeping Augsburg's offense in check.  Also, the cobbers need to stick to the running game when it is working well.  If the cobbers can't contain the air attack of the auggies it could be a long day.  I hope the defense package will include some nickel formations to keep receivers at bay.  The last time the cobbers used nickel formations was in Linfield 2004.  It worked for the first half, but not much in the 2nd half.  However, I think Linfield was better that year than Augsburg.  All in all the cobbers win, but it will be within 3 points.

57 has noticed that an error on the d3football.com schedule has led to an error in our pick 'ems.  Monmouth is the home team, not Ripon, in our national match-up.  Although most had already picked Monmouth, this may affect Buckman's handicapping.  A re-post may be in order following Buckman's ruling.

The official ruling is that everyone (as long as they submit picks this week), regardless of their pick, will get the point for the national game this week.

Gusties beat Carleton 30-29 in OT. Gustavus was up 23-17 and Carleton scored with 10 seconds. PAT was blocked. In OT, Gustavus fumbles into the end zone but recovers for the TD. Carleton quickly scores and PAT gets blocked again, for the third time in the game.
