You work for MNF and you want to talk about substance?  Oh irony of ironies.  But then the meat of this discussion for you is whether you'd rather listen to Tirico than Al Michaels or Joe Buck.  (That's substance?)   Well, I'll take your word for it; you presumably know what you'd rather listen to than I would.  I'd take Michaels over Tirico in a NY minute.  I don't know what Joe Buck has to do with the discussion - was ESPN considering him for the booth?  There are a lot of reasons not to watch MNF; Joe Buck would be just another one.  I don't think Barney Frank would be very good either.

As for ratings, your ratings are better than last year.  If that's incredible, fine.

I know one thing...when I watch baseball on Fox and Buck and McCarver are the commentators, I mute the tv. Can't stand either of them.

I am with you Buckeye, I usually do too.  Although the other night when the WS game got suspended I was actually listening to them when McCarver insisted that Upton wouldn't try to steal 2nd in the 6th.  Right after that Upton took off and stole second.  Gotta love the tools.

I keep wondering why someone like Jim Kaat is out there semi-retired from announcing and Fox doesn't get rid of Buck and McCarver and put someone good into the booth.

MNF typically doubles the nearst cable show each week and recently has tripled up Sunday Night Football.  Seems pretty good to me
