The biggest problem will all this talk is what is the NCAA going to do with Mount, North Central and Wabash, 1, 2 and 3 in the nation, according to D3football. If they move North Central to the West, does Redlands rate above Northwestern? I realize that is not quite how they are supposed to select teams, but only one of those teams can get it. What about Redlands going to the South region?
And has Monmouth figure out the stadium issue, such that they can host a game?

Isn't there a UMAC board? ???
and here I always thought St. Thomas was a MIAC team, how stupid of me.

They could easily shuffle Northwestern to another region as they did to Concordia(wisconsin) last year.

Cant help but wonder what things would look like now if SJU had been able to recruit Henfling from their own backyard.

EV-W folks aren't welcome at SJU  ;)

A tradition unrivaled...
MIAC Champions: '32, '35, '36, '38, '53, '62, '63, '65, '71, '74, '75, '76, '77, '79, '82, '85, '89, '91, '93, '94, '95, '96, '98, '99, '01, '02, '03, '05, '06, '08, '09, '14, '18, '19, '21, '22, '24
National Champions: '63, '65, '76, '03

They could, but that seems difficult since they would have to play an Illinois or Michigan or Indiana or Ohio team. It was easy to move Concordia of wisc. as they played a Wisconsin school.

Not trying to show my age, but AO certainly reminds me of a skipping record.

My 6 year old grand daughter was snooping around the house and came across a box of old records. She came carrying one out and said, "Look at the big CD's grandpa has"

Esq:  Nice article, however I think I have done a bit more research on the strength of schedule of Northwestern, and I wouldn't mind somebody else checking my work over on the pool b board.  My math has Northwestern likely to get the third pool B bid if they beat St. Thomas.  Maybe something crazy will happen and we'll see St. John's get a home game against Northwestern.

This way Northwestern won't have to travel very far after they get Monkey Stomped!

Cant help but wonder what things would look like now if SJU had been able to recruit Henfling from their own backyard. Add an opportune injury in his FY and he'd be back next year, too.

He is hands down the MVP this season. Ramler is COY (even AO could get those 2 right). Stam will go to some big lineman that nobody but his teammates and family has heard of. IF there was a Defensive POY, I'd say it would go to Ziller at Carleton.

Should be an interesting game at Laird...Carleton's passing game is much better than Auggie's or at least not as vulnerable to weather conditions. Henfling isnt afraid to run, and they have a couple of modest backs who can and do get the job done. Frank/Gardner is a more potent 1-2 punch than Winford/Al-Hameed. Winford is the top WR in the league (although Arlt and Frank are nearly his equal) but Gardner gives Carleton TWO explosive potential game-breaking WRs.

(Oh, and UST should mop the field with NW, crushing AO's delusion about the Eagles being capable of contending in the MIAC...46-17)
You might want to wait a week as well before naming the giving Carleton the sweep of post-season honors.  Would it really surprise you to see the Johnnie defense hold henflinger to maybe a single touchdown.  He didn't exactly have a great day last time they played the Johnnies.
Don't they offer English courses at NW?

But the awards on based on a season of play, not one week.

I agree, Henflinger will probably not complete a single pass. HENFLING, on the other hand, may very likely.

One thing's for sure-- Car has a far better chance of scoring this weekend than NWern does.
After the game, the king and pawn go into the same box.

This are classic!

Is Henfling really being considered the favorite to win the MIAC MVP?!?!  I just assumed it was going to Royce Winford.  He has 88 catches for 1,110 yards and 16 TDs AND leads his team with 4 interceptions (which is also 4th in the MIAC).  By comparison, Matt Frank has 79/892/11.

Henfling is 236 of 351 (67.2%) for 2,814 yards with a 29/9 TD/INT ratio.
Compare to:  201 of 301 (66.8%) for 2,424 yards with a 27/10 TD/INT ratio.

And to think, people were calling for Kofoed's head last season...

I didn't realize how transcendent Henfling's season has been until I compared him to the rest of the MIAC this season (here).  He's had a fine year, but it looks like a down season for MIAC QBs.  I'd still vote Winford, but Henfling wouldn't be an embarrassing choice at all.

I think the turn around at CAR has to play into him winning it.  If it truly is M Valuable P.  Throw in another 3 rushing TDs for Henfling and he's the real deal.  If CAR wins on Saturday he should be a shoe in. If they trip up, the race is tighter.
