Congratulations, Carleton, on a fantastic season and team.  If it had been any other team you had to beat, Carleton, I would have been supporting you.  The Johnnies would do well to be doubly fearful of the Knights in '09.

What about UWW going to SJU? SJU a conference champ and UWW a pool c team-kinda makes sense?

A two loss Pool A isn't going to host a 1 loss Pool C when they are the defending national champions. Look for St. Johns to travel to Point.

Oh, nooooo.  WWSP suck and so do the suckie uniforms they suck in.

Geez, our buzz hasn't even worn off yet, being the game is only 45 minutes over.  Get some decaf in your double mocha cappuccino with a lemon twist and let us savor the moment for at least a moment, eh?

EDIT: I didn't realize you were a Pointer.  Gratuitous slam on WW withdrawn with apologies and transferred to SP.

That was a hell of a football game.  I can't even imagine what Carleton's players, coaches, and fans are going through after the rollercoaster last minue of the game.

At one point Carleton ran flea flickers on 3 of 4 plays.  That was awesome (The White Silly would have been so proud!).  Frank is the real deal.  His touchdown catch was just hiim beating two defenders taht werw all over him.  Carleton certainly would have been a deserving champion had they held on to win.

Very fun end to the game.  I was pleasantly surprised by the turnout, announced at an esimated 6,000.  Must be a Carleton record.

Can't wait for next weekend.

Someone picked "St. John's 14, Carleton 10" at JohnnieFootball.com.

Thanks Johnnies for making my first game in almost 30 years one to remember.  It was great getting to meet many of the posters on here, in no particular order JJR, TDT, LBean, DustySJU, ROR and son, OAS and everyone else.  Lets see what next week brings!
Everyday is payday in paradise.

I'm neither so apologies aren't necessary. It's just that with DePauw dumping Wabash, UW-Wastewater likely becomes the #3 seed in the country and should be home until the semis.

You could host Wheaton or Aurora however. Aurora is in and Wheaton should be a strong Pool C candidate.

Holy crap!  What a doozy.  Can't believe the Johnnies squeaked it out yet again.  Congrats to the Johnnies and to Carleton for a great year.

Congratulations to the Johnnie Football team - Conference Champions!

Congratulations also to Kurt Ramler and his CC Knights for taking the Johnnies down to the wire.

Feels great once again to know that SJU is atop the MIAC!  MIAC Comish Dan McCane was even in attendance and had a nice little pow wow with JohnnieFootball.com comish TDT!

Tremendous performace from both sides of the ball today for SJU with smooth as silk Joe Boyle navigating the last 50 seconds of the game for a touchdown.  From my vantage point in the south endzone all I could see was Jeff Schnobrich sprinting north down the east sideline with a perfectly thrown pass falling into his hands.

Redzone offensive performance needs to crank it up a notch while the defense needs to continue to hold steady.

Beautiful day in Northfield with plenty of sun and mid 30's temps.

For future consideration Carleton allows tailgating.... we coulda pulled right up to the stadium and tapped a keg.

Never seen ROR as happy as he was today following the game winning touchdown!

Go Johnnies!!!   8)

That would be interesting-UWW #3 in country, so #1 in West? Still think Willamette and OXY play first round. So, Aurora-would work.

Ha!  I got pinged six karma points by pointless Pointers for that little jab I gave them.  Wait until I get fired up.  They'll be pinging me faster than a Pointer cheerleader on her way to the front of the line at a White Castle two-for-one sale.

Anyway, we'll see who we play.  If it is the Pointers, I'll make sure to use small words when goading them so that they can keep up.

UWW vs Wartburg

Willamette vs Oxy

Monmouth vs Aurora

Point vs Johnnies???

So, who is the higher seed, UWW or Point? I know Point beat them, but still.
Aurora is the 8 seed, right? So Monmouth is #3 after Willamette and Oxy? Ahead of Point and UWW?

I'd say UWW is the number one seed followed by Willamette and then Monmouth positioned vs Aurora for ease of travel.

Or SJU is ranked among the top four in the region and Monmouth gets screwed and we get Aurora at home!!!

Qz, if SJU ends up playing Point, make sure to listen in on the Stevens Point radio broadcast - but only for a few minutes.  It sets back broadcasting 50 years.  I made a comment earlier today about the "expert analyst"  and got immediately attacked by a pointer fan, something like, since you can't beat them, might as well belittle them...LOL

In the real world, Monmouth and Aurora would get monkey stomped (or worse) by every other team under consideration in the west.  It would be a shame for them to end up playing each other in the first round IMO.

It would not be equitable to have Oxy play Willamette first round.   I can relate as to why that would bother those teams.  The IIAC champ, like the MIAC champ, will be a low seed, IMHO.  I think Wartburg goes out West, along with Point.  The $$ from 12,000 fans will matter too much to the NC$$ so I think SJU gets a home playoff game despite its lower seeding.  I am grateful for the NC$$ greed in this particular instance.   I think Aurora Goes to Collegeville and I think Monmouth goes to UW-WW.  One wrench that could be thrown in is North Central being cast in the West.  I don't think that will happen but it may be that  the committee would not want the #1 and #2 teams in the same region.
