Jordan Berg a Gagliardi finalist?
What is this?  An award for immobile quarterbacks that throw a lot of interceptions?

As I said earlier that I would comment on this portion - Jordan tore his PCL and played on it.  One of the key reasons that he was so immoble! Now, I will stand on my soap box and proclaim that my 40 time was faster than his my last year at Augsbugs (and trust me, mine was no where in the 'fast' realm!) and as such, I do agree that Jordan wasn't the fastest and most mobile QB. However, I don't think his extreme lack of mobility this year was all his doing. The knee brace he had to wear greatly compromised his ability to use his leg, and, I did notice a lack of velocity in his ball this year due to the right leg not being fully normal!

I'm glad to see him up for the Gagliardi award. Jordan is a great student and a good guy off the field. His on-field accomplishments were wonderful, but the Gagliardi award is supposed to highlight all what is meant by D3 football - someone who works hard and succeeds not only on the football field!

I'm a little surprised by the lack of commentary on the board with Royce's conference MVP selection. I thought that there might be a bit of argument from some of the Knight fans on this board.
Out of order, I'll show you out of order! You don't know what out of order is, Mr Task! I'd show you but I'm too old, I'm too tired, and I'm too f----n blind. If I were the man I was 5 years ago, I'd take a FLAMETHROWER to this place. Out of order, who the hell do you think you're talking to?

Got a bit of icefishing in on Friday.  3+" of ice on the lakes I was on.  A little creepy, but solid nonetheless.  Fishing sucked, but the weather was superb.  I actually saw some dude on an ATV pulling a permanent house.  That's just asking to get wet!

A tradition unrivaled...

Good grief Duffman, that scares me just reading it. Get off that ice and I'll buy you some fish! (what ever you do, don't take your dog with you yet)
If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

The dog stayed home, and I wear a life jacket.  ;D

So Wartburg seems to be looking like the team that lost to Auggie, not the one that beat Point.

When Wartburg played Auggie I didn't think they were a high caliber playoff team, but I didn't think Bethel was last year either. Teams get hot at the right time. Thats what D III football is all about.

Yeah Helfling had a shot at it. I think Roy's opportunity to play both sides of the ball helped him out.

Winford was very deserving, especially playing both ways.  I think if Carleton would have hung on to beat St. Johns than there would be more of an argument for a Carleton player.

LAWS OF THE NATURAL UNIVERSE (Wilson's law has been proven true many times over in my experience.)

QuoteLaw of Mechanical Repair: After your hands become coated with
grease, your nose will begin to itch or you'll have to pee.

Law of the Workshop: Any tool, when dropped, will roll to the least
accessible corner.

Law of probability: The probability of being watched is directly
proportional to the stupidity of your act.

Law of the Telephone: When you dial a wrong number, you never get a
busy signal.

Law of the Alibi: If you tell the boss you were late for work
because you had a flat tire, the very next morning you will have a
flat tire.

Variation Law: If you change lines (or traffic lanes), the one you
were in will start to move faster than the one you are in now. (works
every time!)

Law of the Bath: When the body is fully immersed in water, the
telephone rings.

Law of Close Encounters: The probability of meeting someone you know
increases when you are with someone you don't want to be seen with.

Law of the Result: When you try to prove to someone that a machine
won't work, it will.

Law of Biomechanics: The severity of the itch is inversely
proportional to the reach.

Law of the Theatre  : At any event, the people whose seats are
furthest from the aisle arrive last.

Law of Coffee: As soon as you sit down to a cup of hot coffee, your
boss will ask you to do something which will last until the coffee is
cold.

Law of Lockers: If there are only two people in a locker room, they
will have adjacent lockers.

Law of Dirty Rugs / Carpets: The chances of an open-faced jelly
sandwich landing face down on a floor covering are directly correlated
to the newness and cost of the carpet/rug.

Law of Location: No matter where you go, there you are.

Law of Logical Argument: Anything is possible if you don't know what
you are talking about.

Brown's Law: If the shoe / dress fits, it's ugly.

Oliver's Law: A closed mouth gathers no feet.

Wilson's Law: As soon as you find a product that you really like,
they will stop making it.

Looks like Johnnie hockey team plays at USTD this Sat. at 7 PM.     No site given in Pioneer Press this morning.   but it might be at St. Thomas Academy.

The Gusties should hire from within.  Coach Brown has been there for many, many years.  He is a dedicated, enthusiastic and knowlegable coach.  He would make a great leader and the players, from what I gathered, loved him.  Sounds like a great decision to me.  Just sayin'.

Man, it's deader in here than a Kalgoorlie brothel the day before pay day.  It's tough to get started up again after the letdown of season end, no?

Speaking of brothels, this joke has been circulating lately...

Not looking good for that bailout plan.

Back in 1990, the Government seized the Mustang Ranch brothel in Nevada for tax evasion and, as required by law, tried to run it. They failed and it closed.

Now we are trusting the economy of our country to a pack of nit-wits who couldn't make money running a whore house and selling booze?

Anyone hear the rumor that the Vikes want to pick up Michael Vick after he gets out of the slammer, and Plaxico Buress after the Giants cut him?

I wish it were closer to April 1. ;D

Some do, some don't. It's not a universal feeling...but it'd certainly be more fun for guys like Frank and myself to have a familiar face on the sidelines.

That said, it's hard to rate Brownie's credentials when you don't know the other 3 guys he's running against.
I don't hate Duke. I just hate all their players, coaches and fans.

You are right, I don't know his competition.   My comment is just based upon me spending time with him over a weekend and watching how the players interacted with him.  I thought,  and think highly of him.  He also struck me as very knowledgeable of the game.

I really liked the guy and was very impressed with him.  I didn't feel he was putting on any false pretenses  and that what he had to say was genuine.

Hmmmm.... well, actually you can rate Brownie, as snoopdawg did, without knowing who the other candidates are.  What you can't do is rate Brownie relative to the other candidates.

So I'm left to wonder: as you know the identity of at least one of the other candidates, and since you hedge snoopdawg's endorsement of Brownie, does that mean you rate the other candidate higher?  I wonder if you are reflecting your own opinion or the opinion of your leaker...  Very intriguing.

EDIT: And I see that snoopdawg also points out (before I hit the 'post' button) that he can rate Brown individually.  Hmmmm... yes a mystery.  More clues please.
