Speaking of bad press, here's an update on the Iowa couple who weren't really a couple who coupled at the Metrodome. Sounds like she had way more than just a couple...:

Hmmm, I wonder if I could find out what kind of wine that was...

I agree with you and speaking of the elderly.................
since you are a good buddy of Gentleman Joe, why don't you convince him to hang it up and rest on his laurels ???  ;)

If only I could convince Sean Avery to either hang it up or shut up! 8)

So by this article and you lawyers and judges would have a better handle on this, but can there be rape charges now?  If she doesn't remember or did not give consent is that the next step.  Is she saying now she is a victim?

Well, the facts we have are still sketchy, and does it seem that she doesn't remember. But there may be 50 people to whom it appeared that she was a willing participant. (Not to say guys don't get charged in iffy cases).
Wonder what the guy remembers. If he doesn't remember, was he raped?

Speak of the devil, Fins.   Take a look at (Minneapolis) StarTribune website for a piece by Howard Sinker.    Guess Gardy is looking at a starting lineup for his outfield in  2009 that does not include your buddy Delmon Young and the  restless.

  Credit to Chris Berman.

TDT, you up on this?      Do you get the Hamm's back from Fins?

If you can't ignore an insult, top it; if you can't top it, laugh it off; and if you can't laugh it off, it's probably deserved.

As much as I like to bet against Delmonica if it wins me beer, I'm not so sure about this move. Particularly puzzling is why is Gardy babbling about this now in Fargo? One, it reduces DY's value if they are shopping him. And two, it makes his treatment of Cuddy look, shall we say, "Punto-esque"?
Delmon's defense is weak, but he did hit .293, and he is only 23. Cuddy is a nice RH hitter to have in the lineup, but he is getting up there. Reading between the lines, Demon Young is not Gardy's type of guy, and apparently has not blended well with "the Twins way".
If he goes, I'll have to find another player to bet against with TDT. If he stays, maybe we can have an over/under on the number of Delmon plate appearances.

Further to Dusty's post, here is the complete schedule for next year:

(all games start at 1 p.m.)

Sept. 5 - at Wisconsin-River Falls
Sept. 12 - vs. Wisconsin-Eau Claire
Sept. 19 - at Concordia
Sept. 26 - at Gustavus
Oct. 3 - vs. Bethel (homecoming)
Oct. 10 - at Hamline
Oct. 17 - vs. St. Thomas
Oct. 24 - vs. St. Olaf (family weekend)
Nov. 7 - at Augsburg
Nov. 14 - vs. Carleton

Will be good, I think.  Two Wiscy teams followed by a trip to CC, Bethel homecoming and another potential winner take all season ending climax, this time in Collegeville.

Could be a tough schedule.  I don't know about you kids, but I'm pretty excited.

What the hell is going on back in Minny?

"Man answers Craig's List baby-sitter ad, uses child for porn video"

A Little Canada man has admitted in court to answering a Craigslist ad for a St. Paul family seeking a baby-sitter, then using the child he was looking after to produce a pornographic video.

This waste of oxygen is looking at 30 years.

EDIT: And of course the child is looking a life term.  Scum.

And back in Australia, things are going per usual...

"Call to breath test NSW politicians after MP Andrew Fraser shoved Katrina Hodgkinson"

Health Minister John Della Bosca and Liberal leader Barry O'Farrell backed the unprecedented call to supply breath-testing kits for MPs to ensure they do not turn up drunk.

It just goes to show that when you think those in government (the Members of Parliament (MP) in this case are state legislators) cannot behave any worse, you are wrong.  You need to think harder.

As long as I'm posting random info I'm coming across today on the interwebs, how about these bailout apples?

(click to embiggen)

You'll have to look carefully to make sure you eyes don't deceive you, but, yes, the bailout is now about 30% more expensive than the inflation adjusted (ie, made bigger) budget of WWII.  The unprecedented disaster here may not be the crisis itself the amount of money the government is tossing down the gurgler.  And these numbers don't even include the auto bailout.  Nice.
