Lawrence will have earned it if they win merely one game....

Who has a tougher first weekend? Lawrence this weekend or Carroll in 2007 when they had to play @ #7 Augustana and @ #5 St. Thomas.

Playing the defending national champs is harder.

I think it's time for the MWC to move to the NAIA if this is how we are going to be treated.

A Pool C hosts.............. That's simply wrong.

Traveling to Elmhurst is a lot better than traveling to Kansas City.

The Roop

Lawrence should CRUSH the teams in that regional. However, they shouldn't have to play them until Salem.

That's what I'm upset about.

At the bottom of the page they have the Massey MOV ratings for all the teams in the tournament split up by section. Lawrence is 8th best in their section. They would be first in all of the three other sections. This is Division 3. Geography trumps balance. According to those rankings Lawrence should beat Wash U.

Roop has spoken and he is right on his only 2 points, both bear repeating:

1) Lawrence will not fear the teams in the weekend bracket,  :)

2) this seeding is total bull****.   >:(

I wish the folks at Husson and RTI and Bridgewater State a good tournament.  I just wish we were in the same tournament.  ::)

well, you can thank St Norbert and Carroll for their total collapse for that seeding... geography and losses to Marian, Oshkosh and Ripon probably didn't help either.

But yeah it sucks for the MWC... again!

Please. We go through this nearly every year.

Very true. Geography does trump balance. Bitch about it if you want, but it's nothing new.

The problem with that last statement is that even if you addressed that specific issue, LU would be travelling to St. Louis or  Whitewater. Common opinion - for whatever that is worth - is that they are the fourth best team in this branch of the bracket.

Elmhurst is (geographically) the most central team of the four.

Oh, and BTW, if you think LU has a bitch, how do you think Wash U feels?! They deserve a bye and they get LU instead!?! Bitch if you want, but in the "we got screwed" list, Larry falls behind other teams, and Wash U probably tops the list.

Good luck to Larry...you're going to need it.

Wash U women are hosting....they didn't get screwed.  It's their turn.

Excellent point...not that that's going to stop the bitching.

That explains why they didn't get the bye as well. Still, the defending champ wins their league, gets a Pool A and loses only two games and they get the #25 ranked team as a reward? And then see that a Pool C team gets the region's bye?! Gotta sting a little.

Comparing the four at Elmhurst:

Wash U - lost two; worst loss was to 16-9 Rochester
Whitewater - lost four; worst loss was to 16-11 Oshgosh
Elmhurst - lost six; worst loss was to 15-12 Anderson
Lawrence - lost six; worst loss was to 9-13 Ripon or 10-16 Marian

Ummm, how is it that Lawrence is the team that got screwed of these four?

Hey, I agree that their bracket is a killer, and it stinks that they didn't get a better draw. But a little perspective, folks, the other three teams in the group got it worse. They deserved a better draw more than LU did.

I'm sympathetic, but...
