You have to love the yearly Midwest quadrant of death.  Oy.

Lu's got it tough, but so do a lot of other teams.  How bout the 2nd round game I will probably get to see assuming all things go the way they should, with UWSP and St. Thomas playing just to get to the sectional round.

The whole bracket sucks for all the teams involved. D3 will never have a fair tournament until the money/geography is taken out of it which will nevr happen.

The Midwest sectional will be the teue final 4.  Wheaton or Plattville, Wash U, Whitewater, Elmhurts or LU, St Thomas or UWSP and UPS or Whitworth.  wow.  If the winner doesn't come out of that sectional, I give up.

It's not going to be easy for LU.  Its doable, but wow its going to be a tough tough road.

When does the All Conference stuff come out?  I thought by now these had been finished...

Probably tomorrow or Wednesday.  They had their meetings yesterday and today.

Remember it took them a week to get the pre-season poll posted, so hopefully it won't take as long this time...

Don't call it a comeback!

What a long two years it has been. As you may recall, I gave up posting nearly two years ago because jeffp and I could not co-exist, no matter how hard we tried. I gladly stepped aside, as this is truly his domain. But alas, it's been a while and he has not posted, so I decided it was safe to get back at it. Plus I'm off the sauce and Edith and I are back together.

I had the pleasure of watching the MWC tourney online this weekend, and I had some thoughts...
-David A JR was missed. The Grinnell offense was a shell of itself without him. Bad shots all around.
-Heck of an effort Friday night by Grinnell to grit out a win.
-Excellent year and career for Grinnell's Big 3. You could make the case for all 3 for POY.
-But you could probably make a better one for Kroeger. Best player on the court this weekend.
-Would like to see Grotberg get it though-one of the best players ever in the conference and hasn't won one yet.
-Lawrence is the class of the conference.
-Watch out for IC next year. My son-in-law Mike Worrell will have them firing on all cylinders. (On a personal note, it's been a great stretch for us, as Mike and his wife just gave us another grandchild. Oh little pooky flakes.)
-Coach A deserves the COY. So does DePagter. If they hadn't given it to that senile bastard Heimann last year, both of them could have one for their efforts over the past two years. Now one will go without.
-I missed you guys.
-Come back jeffp, you're still straight up sexy.
-Forrest Gump sucks. What a retard.
-Speaking of retards, nice work on the announcing from those Grinnell kids. NOT! Had to mute the computer.

Edith you're my little daffodil.
Love,
Ishmael

ps. Try a shamrock shake...way better than Poopacinos.

Sorry, Greg. My spell check on the cell phone was off.  :-[

I'm sure everyone got the point, though, which I know is not always the case when I finish one of your tomes on the CCIW, WIAC or MWC boards.   :o

See my response to Greg above.  Sorry I couldn't drive 75 mph on I-80 and spell check to meet your collective high standards.

By the way, the jousters that Roop and I met in the Darby auxiliary gym Saturday a.m.  brought on other thoughts.  I couldn't figure out the jousting "system" as there appeared to be some effort to win, but an equal effort to not piss off the opponent.  That was missing in the "Performance Gym" that afternoon.  Maybe the two GC teams and their fans (yes, they both have them) could meet and share some notes.  They may both be better off.

I'll certainly admit that it takes some effort to construct a post that doesn't center around Taco John's or Ted Van Dellen's fishing habits.

Dude, lighten up. Even you have to appreciate the ironic humor of you cracking on the student's intellect and then misspelling a word while you do it.  ;)

It's OK to laugh at yourself. While I might have enjoyed that it was your expense - you were attacking fellow alums - I simply appreciated the simplicity of the response.

Hey, I didn't catch it, so I'm no better than you on that account.  :P
