Just looked at the non-conference schedules and it looks like a good mix to the confernece.  With some good performances the conference should gain respect as they play a decent # of CCIW teams, a little light on WIAC--Ripon???? the Redhawks seem to have decided to renew old rivalries with Coe and Cornell in favor of the usual UW game or two.

one odd thing?  St Norbert at Midnight on the 15th??? and then Oshkosh on Monday with no practice???  doesn't seem too wise, but i am merely an observer.

I actually thought it would be hard to put a chip on the shoulder of a program that has won 5 out of the last 6 Conference championships.  (as well as conference tournament championships).

Thank you MWC coaches.

Silver Lake figures to be the practice for the Oshkosh game.

Apparently the Globetrotters couldn't make it to Fond du Lac so the visiting Washington Generals played and convincingly lost to Marian 78-57. Kinda makes you wonder how bad Knox will be this year as they were picked behind them in the MWC.

Lake Forest with a convincing win over visiting Lakeland College.  Watched this one on MWCTV.  Impressive run to start the second half put it away.

Nice to see LF put up some offense. 80 would have been better but 77 is close enough. I still think last years top four will be this years top four but if a defense oriented team can score points they will be a force to be reckoned with.

Probably should have/could have been 80.  Starters were removed and benches were emptied with Lake Forest up by 25ish with 6 or 7 minutes to go.  At that point Lake Forest had 70 I believe

2 minutes left is when you make wholesale substitutions. Perhaps that makes me unsportsmanlike but when you're hammering, keep hammering.

System Error

Made it to opening day at Darby Gymnasium yesterday for the game against Waldorf (who the Pioneers lost to at Waldorf last year). Regardless, it felt weird seeing a entirely new lineup for the first time in 4 years. From the website, the Arseneaults are calling this the ''New Era.'' A new era indeed. It looked like Grinnell was in for a rough night with a 6-41 shooting performance from three, resulting in only 33 first half points. (They were down 57-33 at half). They weren't pressing, played sloppy offense and couldn't make shots. However, a new team came out of the locker room on a 28-6 run. They ended up winning 99-92 as Waldorf couldn't score down the stretch. As for some stats, it looks like the freshman coach is looking to be the new scorers are Jesse Nye, Dylan Seelman and Griffin Lentsch... They had around 60 pts combined I believe. But together they took 39 three pointers and only made 8. First game jitters perhaps. I look forward to watching the New Era unfold here in Iowa.

If your talking about grammatically I initially had the same reaction, that why would a freshmen coach have anything to do with anything.  I think there was supposed to be a comma after freshmen.

If your talking about literally then I cant help ya out.
