The odds makers say Gillespie will retire after his son graduates. He will be a senior this year.

Illinois College recruits...

Ealey, Stelzriede to I.C.

Allen Ealey of Buffalo Tri-City and Blake Stelzriede of Maroa-Forsyth have informed Illinois College officials they plan to enroll for the fall semester and compete for spots on the men's basketball team.

Ealey, a 6-foot-5 center, averaged 15.5 points and 7.8 rebounds per game and earned first team All-MSM Conference honors. He was all-tournament at Waverly and Stanford Olympia and finished eighth in the Illinois High School Association Class 1A Slam Dunk Contest.

Stelzriede, a 6-1 guard, averaged 15.7 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.8 assists as a senior and earned first team All-Okaw Valley Conference honors.

LAKE FOREST RECRUIT

I've heard that 5'11" 2G James Stack of Barrington will be attending Lake Forest.
Sorry, I don't have any stats.
Yes, he is the son of Jim Stack, former Northwestern player and executive with the Bulls and Timberwolves, among others.

Just a theory but if he has "connections" like that he must not be any good.

Here is a list or some Beloit recruits.

Sorry Roop doesn't look like any big men included.   Tallest so far appears to be the kid from Minnesota at 6-5
There's only two things I can't stand in this world. Those who are intolerant of other people's cultures... and the Dutch.

If you've got an issue, here's your tissue.

I do not see either of the Beloit recruits that Titan Q listed mentioned in the article. Hopefully, both of them are still on board to join the Bucs. With a roster of only 10 players last year, there is plenty of room for more players to add depth. The 6'4" and 6'5" guys are tall by recent Beloit standards

6'4" 6'5" is fine as far as I'm concerned. Provided they can handle the ball. Beloit will never adopt the "system" but they've had the speed to play more up tempo than they have been. They just haven't had the numbers to do so.

Any Lake Forest lurkers might be interested to know they will be playing Hope in the first game of the RDV Classic in Orlando next season on Dec 20.

The other 2 teams are not known at this time.

From the early 50's to mid 70's Hope and Lake Forest played nearly every year.  They've met 26 times, this will be the first meeting  since 1978

They lost to Calvin last year in Michigan.  I would say they were trying to increase recruiting in Michigan, but the game this year is in Florida, so maybe just a coincidence.

Your "theory" is pathetic - you're talking about a kid who went from hardly seeing the varsity floor as a junior to a main cog for a regional champion as a senior.  He averaged almost 10ppg and is definitely a late bloomer.  He's seen working on his game solo at the local YMCA often.  He has a very good chance to be a solid D3 player down the road.

And obviously you don't know anything about his dad who obviously understands the talent required to play at each level and wanted only the best opportunity for his son.
