Speaking of insane effort. We need to recognize a guy who doesn't get ANY ink on these pages. Grinnell senior Aaron Epps.

I hate to pick on you since you're new but Grinnell doesn't have seniors, the have class of 11s.

I see your point though. It was like the time my wife went to work and I called a 900 number. She answered the phone. Then she recognized my voice and hung up. $4.95 for the first minute and I only get 3 seconds. That's the story of my life, no respect. I get no resect at all.................

Roop, we have seniors, juniors, sophomores, just no freshmen. Enlightened institutions everywhere have First Year students.

Sorry about your 900 call. Does that job have a good benefit package?

Or Frosh.  A handful of overly 'enlightened' institutions have 'freshpersons', but that is just grotesque! :P

I've been thinking about who has to play where the last couple weeks of the season. Some venues are just tough as all heck. Sometimes it's the physical facility itself. Sometimes the fan base makes it tough, or there is just something about the administration at one place or another that seems to add just a little intangible.

What do our posting analysts think. In your experience, what gyms are tough to play in on the road, and why. I have my opinions, of course.

Martha Stewart moved from Ripon, WI to Jacksonville, Il apparently

On a side note. THE LOMBARDI TROPHY IS COMING HOME.

One detail that might have been missed if you were watching the GC/SNC game on video: at about 2 minutes out, the Scarlet Sea began changing 'Overrated!' at the SNC bench. Highly amusing.

Tough places to play are usually determined by the home team being better than you are. The MWC traveling schedule does factor in however. Lake Forest is never a good place to visit for facility reasons. Typically it's only 5 degrees warmer inside than it is outside. They produce lots of lawyers but just one maintenance man to turn up the heat would be nice.

St. Norbert can be rough as the fans are right on top of the team benches. The visitors locker room at LU is in a cave I heard. Old Glennie was rough as it was only as big as a phone booth. The new one is nice but I've never seen a game there, so I have no opinion.

I never understood that "overrated" chant myself. If you're beating a highly rated opponent, wouldn't you want that rating to be accurate? After all, it enhances the value of the victory. Maybe "underrated" would be a more meaningful chant.

Tough places to play always have to account for the quality of the opponent. You're sure right about that, Roop. But as you mentioned, there are places that are always tough to go into. Even places where you regularly win, but have a tough time.

I think I'll wait for the end of the season before I publish my list. Who knows, Legends may still be made or enhanced in the next 2 weeks.

Quite a shot on the D3Hoops front page from Carroll to keep Knox winless in the conference.  With the bunch up for the 3 and 4 spots, that's a huuuuuuuuuge shot for Carroll

Good luck for GC in their game at Monmouth tonight. Keep that crazy defense going!

GC 73, MC 67

don't let the score fool you, it wasn't that close, although MC led early. GC hit an astonishingly low 1st half % of FG - 2 of 21. That would be 9.5%. Yowza. Nonethless they led going into the 2nd half, where they ended up hitting about 25% of their 3s. Thus the low low overall score.

Good efforts all around despite the cold 3 shooting. Maher, Strek, Lentsch, McManamy, Levin, and Chalupa all contributed. Lots of MC turnovers from the 'new' GC defense.

Weird game, good result.
