High probability of a RoopSighting (tm on loan from Scottie Enterprises) on Thursday in Beloit. Bring on the circus..........

Roop, enjoy the circus tonight. I'm looking forward to seeing what Beloit has to offer an unbeaten GC team. With GC, you never know what's going to happen.

I'll send a Town Car.  Beloit Blue is one of our most popular colors and several haven't be returned from NYE yet, so this one will be black.   8-)

Nice game by GC last night (although a surreal experience - no audio on the webcast - luckily the camera guy kept going to the scoreboard). BC held them in check for the first 12 minutes or so and seemed very effective at defending the 3s. But then they seemed to tire out (imagine that) and the game ran away from them (literally) in the 2nd half. Some nice efforts from Jessie Ney and Griffin Lentsch.

roop, what was it like live? I didn't realize anyone had fouled out until I saw the box score.

The big "Turkey Ball" game is this Saturday.  (See what I did there???)  Once again, the P-fire gets to come into town while the students are on holiday break and play the good guys in a near empty gym. I'll never understand this.  And, yet, there might still be a 36% chance of a scottiesighting tm.

Just bad scheduling by whoever sets up the conference schedule.  Might as well have the teams do a south to north or north to south trip where the gyms are going to be half empty anyways, regardless of who is and isn't on break.  It does however make it easier to find a seat in the gym, which will be important as I'm considering making a trip to the Maple City for the "Turkey Ball" (yes scottie, I see what you did there).  The atmosphere still won't be as good as it possibly could be though and that kinda sucks.

Let's face it, this is the only atmosphere AT ALL that is worth a damn on the schedule. If it's not a rivalry game, like the other 17 or so (half at home) who is going to show up....and, more importantly, who is going to come to enthusiastically witness the game?  Monmouth/P-fire games are a lock to bring down the house when both student bodies are able to attend.  There are probably few games like it in the MWC.  And, until, the men's team becomes as/more interesting to watch than the MWC-contender women's team (In Skrivseth we trust), is it an event that can guarantee 50% capacity in the sparkling Glennie Gym?  Instead, it seems the only time the MC students and fans can experience this epic game is at that dump in G-burg.  "It's outrageous, egregious, preposterous!" ;)

Sorry for the 1 day delay, no internet at moms house anymore.

At first I thought the game might be 173-168 the way it started but reality set in and it was a relatively low scoring "system" game. What bugs me is that Beloit shot 66% from 3 point range but didn't take any until the final 23 seconds. It was addressed before the game so it shouldn't have been an issue. Stick to your game plan for 35 minutes then let the scoreboard dictate the last 5 minutes. We'll see next time I guess but "I told you so" 1 Listening 0.

The officials were not bad, at times I thought we were playing in Darby, but there were make up calls so I would consider them a non factor. Beloit committed some silly fouls consistent with a young team. Now that I've seen them in person I don't understand the record. The effort and ability to win is there, perhaps they lack the anticipation of winning.

In any event, congrats to Dave Jr. on his first official win as coach. All previous games were counted as Big Daves. Thanks for the limo scottie. Now I have to work with my people and make sure that the swimming coach is manning the V.I.P. entrance so I don't have to walk around the building next time. Beloits new science building is very nice but it completely ruined what was already limited parking there. And yes, I will probably always complain about it. LOL.

Good luck to GC tonight in their battle against Illinois College. Looking to see us move to 10-0.

Just heard rumors of a possible JeffP sighting at tonight's GC game. Keep your eyes peeled...

I'm going to consider that the same as a definite maybe when I asked about a possible sighting at the Beloit game. Although, Darby is 4 hours closer to Saints Rest than is Beloit.

Patricia and I are glad Grinnell won, glad we went, and glad we left early. We just don't care any more. The last shackle has finally been removed. No harm, no foul, just no interest. Best of luck to all, and see ya' around...

GC 115, IC 113

An ugly game from the GC perspective with a good, nailbiting finish. If you tuned in anytime from the beginning until about 5 mins out from the end, you would have seen IC handily keeping GC in check - and GC (particularly in the 1st half) playing sloppily. Sure, the 3s weren't hitting for Lentsch, but that wasn't the real problem - it was a lot of times when we should've taken a shot but didn't.

Nonetheless, kudos to GC for gritting it out and getting the score within striking distance in the last 5 min. Jesse Ney kept the 3s coming all night, nice defensive play by Maher, lots of steals by Rodgers.

I hope this game gets all of the sloppiness out of their system! And I'm still scratching my head about IC's low ranking thus far - they played very well.
