Roop, do they have anyone who can shoot beyond 6 feet?

They do but taking 3's isn't a huge part of the offense, more of an epilogue to it. I think 12-15 attempts per game is reasonable, unfortunately it takes 2-3 games to see that many. Grinnell gives up plenty of good looks from beyond the arc but very few teams seem to take advantage. I've never understood that.

Which brings the standings to:

Lake Forest     10-0
Grinnell           9-1
St. Norbert       7-4
Ripon               6-5
Carroll              5-5
Lawrence          4-6
Beloit               4-6

The top two teams have yet to play each other.  Not exactly sure of the dates, but obviously with only 6 conference games remaining for each team, those games are certainly coming up quick.

This Saturday...January 28th is the first matchup between the 2, @ Lake Forest

Hey, look at that. 14 3 pt. attempts by Beloit. % wasn't great but it wasn't horrible either. The shared the same 28.6% with Knox for the game. Nice win on the road.  8-)

You disappoint me, my friend.  You're forgetting the surging Good Guys at 3-7.

That's right, Scottie, they should not be forgotton. And a worrisome game that will be for Grinnell this week. The Pioneers had better not be looking past the mid-week contest or Saturday's showdown won't be much of a showdown.

With eight games left, the Good Guys have 2 games remaining against BOTH Grinnell and Lake Forest, with one more against SNC (and even America's Team!).  Basically, what I'm suggesting is that the Scots control their own destiny.  If you want to be the best, you have to beat the best.   ;)

While I know there is perhaps a twinge of sarcasm in saying the Scots are still in the race for 1st, you guys certainly do raise a very valid point that they very well could have a say in who finished in 1st place with all of their remaining games seeming to come against the upper echelon of the MWC.

I will concede, without a twinge of sarcasm, that the Scots are not in contention for the regular season championship.  My mathematical formula is directed toward playoff eligibility.  Any way you slice it, one thing is clear....

You can say that again. They have a great team this year - but they almost had it handed to them by IC. So every night holds the potential for an upset!

+K for your honesty.
Thanks, Scottie! Although you should note that I didn't say MC would win. Just that they could.
