Read the whole damn Gazette article about the Grinnell game. This really is a team folks. No matter what happens the rest of the season, this is a team. No matter what nonsensical pitter patter you come up with to put them down, this is a team. No matter how you hate the "unsportsmanlike" behavior of this group, this is a team. Even without Taylor, I wouldn't want to bet against 'em. Congrats to the Grinnell Pioneers...and to the 3 contributors from the end of the bench? Well, YEAH!
So... your saying it's a team... okay... just checking :).

Tough loss for the team... broken wrists are not fun at all.

Yeah, Grinnell's and the NATION'S top scorer as well. Taylor will be missed sorely, but some others found out they DO know how to step up. I'm just not ready to write the obit quite yet.

I don't know how you can write the obit on Grinnell, ever...it's such a unique style of basketball that they will still get plenty of wins no matter what and it's not like they were exactly lacking last year when they didn't have Taylor either and made it to the conference tourney

Did either of you Grinnell guys catch the story about Taylor in Sports Illustrated?  It was a good read and included the stories of others who had scored or coached 100 point performances.  It's interesting to read how it impacted their lives.

Check it out if you get a chance.  Quite a bit of the story focuses on Taylor.

The Roop

Knowing where the library is and being able to get a card in short order are two different things. The DMV doesn't issue new drivers licenses until the old one is expired, they just update your information in the system. Luckilly I put some correspondence/bills to my physical address instead of P.O. Box as the library doesn't acknowledge those.

Any way................. I'm not penciling in Flood Arena as the host site this year for the MWC Tournament but Beloit does have a favorable schedule. All the contenders still have to come here. The Cornell win was impressive not just by margin but by the fact that they cleared the bench and it still looked like basketball.

Tomorrow vs. St. Norbert(S) figures to be a good one but they will need to watch the silly fouls.

Good analysis of the GC/LU game. One comment: the loss of Taylor is definitely a blow to GC - but this team has one of the deepest scoring benches I've seen in many years of watching the team. A friend and I counted up 5 players that could *each* easily top 15-20 points a game. Add in Lentsch, who has had some phenomenal seasons in the past few years, and I still think GC is very viable for the tournament. It will just take a slightly different path.

Good luck tonight against IC, which handed GC a home court defeat a few weeks back. Should be an interesting game!

I dunno folks....Am I the only one who thinks this "injury" might just be another gimmick to make sure that Taylor preserves this status as the nation's top scorer through the end of the year?  Granted, he's had success against the next two opponents (IC and RC).  But I really don't think the staff wants to take a chance on Taylor getting completely shut down again by the Good Guys next week and dropping his average down to a point where he could actually finish the season .... gasp .... without the scoring title.  I'm calling this a three-game vacation with statistical advantages.    ;)

Yes, but is a deep bench greater than D-III's leading scorer*?

Whatever people think about the 7000 point game earlier this year, the kid can downright play... and he'll definitely be missed.
