Jeffp has waaay too much time on his hands since he sold the Saint's Rest. Had he been at work he probably would have avoided the deer. Sounds like he's out for the season (can't clap for the Pioneers).

You didn't miss much last night, Jeff. Grinnell wins 136-65. Not much you can say about that, except it wasn't as close as the score might indicate. Knox has some decent players and shouldn't be this bad. They absolutely refused to shoot open J's from the wing, opting instead to work the ball into a turnover. Knox coach did not get a DVD copy of the IC at Grinnell game in his Christmas stocking.

What was more interesting was how avidly the KC women were watching the men's game. Why? Because turns out that they're running the system, too. Although the GC women beat them (handily), KC had a couple of knock-out 3 shooters - one typically shot from 3' out from the line. Geez. The KC men's team should take some lessons from their women's team!

This is news to you? They've done this for a couple seasons now.

Nobody here has ever regarded JeffDC as very quick on the uptake....   ;D

The question is: After a couple of seasons, are the KC women running the system effectively?  They are below .500 had have almost as many games in the 60s and below as they do in the 80s or above.

I actually noticed earlier in the season, but last night - although they loss - it was a better execution of the system. And that one shooter was truly amazing.

Both online and offline, I am not widely regarded as 'quick on the uptake'. However, I have not collided with a deer, either. So take your pick.  :D

I would have to watch the KC team to see if it's truly effective or not. They definitely put the shots up. They do a pretty good job on the press. But their 3 conversion rate is relatively low and the shooting bench seemed thin. Also, I'm not sure if they're as conditioned for the pace of a system game as they need to be. Hard to say. Right now they're 5-8 in conf, so they're already at or past where they were in conf wins in 2009, 2010, and 2011. So it may be making them more competitive. But I don't think we'll know for another couple of years. You really have to get an entire class all the way through the system, I think.

jeffdc, you've got to get outta town to even have a CHANCE to hit a deer. And just what DO you do? You walk down to SR for coffee 5 days a week, you walk to an occasional GC game, you walk to the lavatory (Scottie doesn't even know what a lavatory IS, I'd guess - speaking of uptake) and back to the computer screen where you apparently twit all day and call it work, and then you walk to bed every night. Just how do you expect to even be in the running to hit a deer? And talk about too much time on yer hands, OBC is too lazy to shovel his arse outta the driveway! He sure isn't gonna hit a deer sitting on the couch waiting for spring to clear the road!
Now here I am, broken fingers from punching out a deer and you are making FUN of me? Sheesh! I'm gonna go shovel the walk...

"Some love" is more than the Good Guys get from most.  Make it two weeks in a row and I'll be impressed.  :)

Jeffp, Like a true blue state American I know it's not my job to shovel myself out. I am waiting for the government (county) to do it for me. They had better get with it so my wife can go to work tomorrow.

jeffp

Gawd, OBC, I shoulda just come out and done it for you. Bleed the county dry instead of moving in to town...

I'll bet Grinnell won't need a shovel to win...

I think Jeffp may need a shovel to dig himself out of his current mess, though.... Deer, fingers illness, ill-advised postings....what's next?
