The Roop

You forgot Happy Anniversary. We got married on my birthday last year so I wouldn't forget it. That might be on page 600 something. Since then, Beth can't remember my birthday. LMAO.

Congrats to St Norbert for cracking the Top 25 poll at #24! Nice to have a little MWC presence before the bell even rings....

And congrats to Beloit for cracking the Top 5 after thumping Grinnell on Feb 8th. ;)

So, Mr. The Roop, is that a two headed prediction or a gauntlet thrown?

Or both?

I bet after 4 years with the carnival barkers,  interest in returning can't be too high.

Shout out to Katie Vanden Avond. Who??

She's a junior forward on the women's St. Norbert soccer team. She made the Faces In the Crowd section in this week's Sports Illustrated.  Pretty cool stuff.

BIG Congrats to Grinnell College grad Keith Chamberlain for hittin' up the NBA D league. Based on the photo accompanying the appreciated D3Hoops.com article, i'd say Keith has bulked up a bit! :o

Here's an article on ESPN W about her from a couple of weeks ago

OBC

JeffDC, did you get a chance to see the Alumni/Varsity game yesterday? The results surprised me. The only thing to say is that the last time the alumni won was 14 years ago, and the varsity went on to win the conference championship and make the NCAA tournament.

Jeff P, if you'll recall, Keith Chamberlain came to Grinnell as a 16 year old. He became a very good player in conference, but really started to hit his stride playing professionally in Europe. He is still a very young man, and who knows what can happen. We may still see him in the NBA. Wouldn't that be cool? He's a great kid; very smart, and is now looking pretty ripped as you mentioned.

Yeah, it was kind of a blow-out for the Alums! But this was the youngest alum team I remember seeing in a while (Steve Wood was the 'old guy') - it was really made up of the past 2 years' worth of graduating seniors, and you could tell it by how well they worked together. The Alums also had a pretty serious height advantage. For the past 4-5 years, GC has had a pretty tall team (for the MWC) but this year's team seems more like old times - not so much height, although plenty of speed. I think GC actually looked pretty good considering the Alum talent they faced - but their shooting has to improve or it could be a loonnnnggg season.

It would be cool if he played for the Iowa Energy.
