The announcers from Illinois College are suggesting that the BlueBallBoys should be playing Lawrence more evenly as Lawrence leads 49-33.  I guess they feel they deserve a Pool C bid, too.

Still better than ESPN's Dan Dakich who while covering the Iowa vs Michigan game, mentions Aaron Craft every 10 minutes.

Grinnell 111 Beloit 98. Miss a f-ing 3 pointer in the last 5 minutes for crying out loud.

Not sure what is is but in the past few years Grinnell always finds a way to take the Bucs down.

Grinnell 111- Beloit 98 as previously mentioned by The Roop. The game featured one of the most unevenly called games I've seen in Darby (old or new). The officiating crew tried it's best to give this game to Beloit. I mean 40 minutes of EVERY FREAKIN' CALL. Some so bizarre as to defy description.
The gas seemed to go out of Grinnell halfway through the second half with the defense just going through the motions. Then, after one of the aforementioned bizarre calls the teams seemed to collectively say "not today. You are not taking this game from us today" In a frenzy that lasted from approximately the 8 minute mark to the 4 minute mark, Grinnell went from 10 down to up 14. They could hardly miss a 3 pointer. Marx-Taylor-Taylor-Marx-Maher-Taylor-Yeager-Yeager-Olson-Maher and that was all she wrote. The Pioneers shoot 58.6% from the arc in the second half, probably 90% in the last 8 minutes. It was remarkable.
OK, so a few notes. First, the team will miss Aaron Levin. His big body down low And his shooting. Zachary has to stop playing defense in the no charge circle and get to the ball. The team can still shoot and will win games on that basis, but it would be nice to see more consistent D.
On a personal note, it was nice to be back in the stands after my recent illness. And back to posting here.

3 Beloit players fouled out so I'm not sure how that constitutes the refs trying to give them the game. In an unrelated topic I tried watching Star Trek Into Darkness and couldn't hit the stop button fast enough.

Roop, Beloit played like it was a football game. Reminded me of the IC team 5-6 years back. The reffing was pretty bad. Should have been 4-5 foul outs, not 3. Sorry.

Yes the refs were bad but it didn't effect the outcome of the game. I never said it did. Grinnell got hot from beyond the arc when it mattered most and Beloit didn't have an answer.

With so much drama with Jeffdc it's hard being Roop d o double g.

Enough of the small talk....It's game night!  And not just ANY game night, we've got the GOW at Glennie Gym (I'll leave the week vs. weak jokes to you knuckleheads....).  Yes, the nation's best 5-15 team hosts the nation's worst 1-18 team.  But throw the records out the window, as I'm sure this will be a typical War on Hwy 34.  Good luck to the Good Guys (aka the Frosh/Sophs)!
