scottie. While that may help the D1 Badgers I don't think it's a D3 subject. Tag, you're it.

I thought that Grinnell's Patrick Maher was a strong candidate for MWC Player of the Year. To see that the 4 TIME player of the week didn't even make the first team is a shock. I am beyond surprised. What's a guy gotta do?
You should probably ask Coach A that question. Word on the street is Taylor was nominated for player of the year not Maher. I agree with whoever posted Maher is GC's best player. Taylor did absolutely nothing but mean mug the students in his two games at St. Norbert.

OBC

Yeah, I never expected Maher to WIN player of the year. But he's a first teamer IMHO. He lead the league in assists/game, second in A/TO ratio, 5th in scoring, and he was a leader on the floor. Yes, he was GC's best player this year. A couple MWC first teamers didn't match him.

And the headband? Think Nate Levenger, former MWC POY from LU!

Congratulations to the Knights on their first NCAA tourney win of the year.

The Roop

scottie. Out of state games aren't likely but I have thrown a shout out to a contact of mine and there is a possibility that Beloit Memorial schedules a home and home with the good boys.

Now THAT would be quite the border war!!   ;D

Oh, and I guess I should congratulate the green machine on their victory, since this is a DIII/MWC board and all.  History will probably confirm that SNC was the best team to represent the MWC this year....   ;)

What happened to the good old days when it was Beloit, Ripon, Monmouth and an also ran in the MWC Tournament.

The Lawrence player with the head band was Nate Leverance.  Kyle McGillis also sported one during the 2005-06 season (when LU finished 25-1 and lost to IWU in Sweet 16 game).  Some of you may remember that era when LU was today's SNC.

I kind of liked the good ole days when the MWC conference tournament was held in Appleton.

Although having the MWC Tournament in De Pere has been pretty nice.  Thanks to UW-Milwaukee it will probably stay there.

Was there. LU couldn't miss a 3 in the first half, couldn't buy one in the second half. Had a good look at the buzzer but it wouldn't go down.

The June/Senes will likely host in 15-16.  Hope America's Team can join the party.   ;D

The Roop

scottie. Much like college, high school schedules get made out a few years in advance. So the Border War may have to wait a while.

RTF, thanks for the heads up on Leverance (NOT Levenger) from LU. It's been 14 or 15 years since then and my memory isn't getting better. I do remember he could play the game.

LUsid

The guy you're thinking of is Nate Leverence, who played for Lawrence in the late 1990s, early 2000s. Leverence was a two-time all-conference guy but never a Player of the Year. You have him confused with three-time all-conference player Adam LaVoy, who was Player of the Year for the 1999-2000 season.
