SNC wins 91/73

SNC made, IIRC, 15 more free throws than the Pios.  Jack Taylor had just 2 in the second half and 10 overall.

Despite hostings since St. Thomas couldn't,  St. Norbert still considered the 2 seed and has to play CCIW foe Elmhurst while St. Thomas takes on...Northwestern (MN).

It's now that time in the season when we all band together for SNC in playoff basketball.  Good luck to the Green Knights!

I'm actually cheering for St. Norbert,  mostly because this is their chance. They are at home, finally, and play (possibly) 2 solid programs in Elmhurst and (probably) St. Thomas.  It's one thing to dominate your league year on and year oit, but it's a different animal come tourney time. Here's your chance!

SNC fans can hold their heads high after tonight. That was a fantastic effort by a really solid Green Knights team.

No offense, but St. Norbert NEEDS to win that game. For years they've been sent to a powerhouse to either play them or a tough neutral game. They finally get a home regional with a winnable game. No offense to Elmhurst of course, they are a solid program from a Top 3 conference. But the table was set for the Green Knights,  especially after St. Thomas got upset. However,  they weren't able to come through.  Hold your head up as high as you want but in the end it's another early round exit and this time it should be considered an upset.  I'm obviously not a St. Norbert fan but even I'm disappointed in the result.

I don't agree, Tom. It was a slight upset (SNC is Massey #11, EC is Massey #16), not a major one. When you have that kind of closeness in terms of the ability levels of the two teams, it often comes down to matchups -- and I thought that Elmhurst matched up very well with St. Norbert in terms of position-by-position personnel. Plus, Elmhurst is a much deeper team, which became a major factor as the game went into extra sessions.

I didn't say major upset, Greg.  ;)
