Greek Tragedy

Things look up for them then, with all their starters back. They beat Coe, who beat Lake Forest, picked 3rd, so that's a good sign.

No mention of Ty Sabin casually dropping 53 points against Loras?  Including 45 in the second half?  He made his final 12 shots (including 5 three-pointers).

His second half line looked like this: 45 points on 12-13 shooting (5-5 from 3-point range), and 16-20 from free throw line  :o :o :o :o :o :o

Sabin is something else.  Saw him score 51 last year at Cornell, including the game winning three at the buzzer.  Was the most casual great game I've ever seen - was pretty quiet the first half, then just flipped a switch and starting getting buckets.

Almost effortless and ho-hum at times.

How did D-1 programs miss this guy?  Would be a stud at a mid-major like UW-Green Bay or Milwaukee.

FYI, here is a highlight video of all 53 of his points in that game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hgkJYGBHkxk

And here are just a few highlights from his other-worldly second half: https://www.facebook.com/redhawks.athletics/videos/vb.136901091004/10154537727516005/?type=2&theater

WARHAWKS: 82
Beloit: 70

Beloit looked very competitive last night.  The final score is deceiving in that, while the WARHAWKS led for the entire game, for the majority of it the lead was in single digits and when it did hit double figures the Buccaneers quickly reduced it to the 4-6 point range.  The lead only reached double figures and remained there in the final couple of minutes.  We just couldn't put them away.  Cody Risseeuw led Beloit with 18 points but 14 of them came in the first half.  Defensively we were able to control him in the second one.  Sam Noyce finished with 14 points.  His ability to dribble penetrate gave us some problems.  Free throws were the difference.  Beloit's 22 fouls put us on the line 23 times and we made 16 of them.  Our 13 fouls only led to Beloit attempting 5 free throws of which 3 were successful.

I don't know that much about the Midwest Conference but my perception is that if Beloit plays like they did last night they should be very competitive and win some games.

GC will get a taste of BC on Friday night. Sounds like it could be a great game! GC toughed out a super-tight game with Simpson on Tues - basically 2 pt game most of the way. Super impressed with Simpson's play.

The score of the Whitewater vs. Lawrence game at JustaGame Fieldhouse in Wisconsin Dells in 56-44 with 16:10 left in the second half.  ShineTime's UW-W best team in D-3 history predictions suggest that U-Dub Dub is ahead (they can't be touched), the $8 paywall came up before I could discern who was actually leading.  Coach DePagter's body language was positive; the announcers were apparently deaf mutes and had no arms to turn the camera during the period I was able to watch and strain my ears to listen.  I couldn't hear Pat Miller providing positive feedback to the officials either, the camera didn't focus on his cool persona.

Maybe one of you super successful UW-W guys is paying and would clarify.  ;)
