Surprised that SNC is ranked 9th.  Just my opinion; I think there are at least 5 WIAC teams better--Eau Claire, Stout, Oshkosh, River Falls and LaCrosse, two of which already beat them.  Only the Benedictine win looks like a signature win.  No idea if Ripon can play with them, but its possible.

DJ DeValk is a horse that has to pull a lot of weight to get them anywhere in NCAA post season play.

Get used to it AR. SNC just beats the hell out of an otherwise weak conference, and piles up Ws which the pollsters love to see.
In strong conferences, the combatants savage each other and its much harder to match the number of wins SNC is practically guaranteed. Benedictine is a good team but, again, plays in a weaker conference which allows for the easier accumulation of
lots of Ws.

Shouldn't a top 25 team beat the hell out of a weak conference? It's better than not beating the hell out of one. SNC played poorly at Oshkosh and lost a toss-up at Eau Claire. Did beat Platteville, who beat North Central. Which reminds me, who advanced out of the NCAA pod North Central was in last season, anyhow? In any case, Wednesday's game at Ripon will be interesting. RC will be pretty desperate to win that one after losing to Monmouth yesterday.

Barely beating conference opponents wouldn't get them that high. The fact they beat down their conference, while it might be weak, does show how strong they are. If they were barely beating the conference, it wouldn't look as good. And yes, piling up wins will get you ranked... where they should be ranked during this age of parity is an endless circle of a conversation.

Takes the Vikes to 6-2 in the MWC !
That 6-2 can be a bit deceiving when four of the six wins are against Knox and Illinois College.....

Wow, don't see the Knights give up 80 points very often. In other news...

Monmouth 99, Grinnell 91

This could turn into a good race for the final spot in the MWC tourney over the course of the next month.

Ripon came out and punched SNC in the mouth to start.  That was playoff level intensity and they amazingly kept it up the entire game.  Really impressed with Ripon's performance.  Could the MWC have two ranked teams in the same poll?

I suppose it's possible. I mean, it was a butt whipping. It's not like Ripon lucked out and won by 1 in OT. They didn't get any votes last week and most voters know about the lack of quality in the MWC.

I still see the conference getting only one team in. Both teams' SOS are so bad that it's hard to imagine a 3-4 loss Ripon/St. Norbert team jumping any of the WIAC/CCIW teams with 6-7 losses.
