The Green Knights (19-4, 16-2 MWC) became the first MWC team to win five consecutive outright men's basketball championships since Carleton College won six straight from the 1927-28 to 1932-33 seasons.

St. Norbert will host Lake Forest College at 7 p.m. Friday in the Midwest Conference Tournament at Kress Events Center. Ripon College will face Cornell College in the first semifinal at 5 p.m. Friday. The tournament championship game is scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday.

Hey cubs, if Coach DePagter allows me, I intend to try and see an LU practice sometime soon as well.  I am sure if they were 20-0 they still wouldn't meet your exacting standards, but I think the story behind that has nothing to do with basketball.

Just many LU fans long for the days of actually qualifying for the MWC Tournament on a regular basis (much less the NCAA Tournament.)  Instead they have had to sit and watch the Vikings miss the MWC Tournament seven straight years and finish with a losing record in five of those seven years as well.

My guess is they come closer to 20 losses this year, and not 20 wins.... 

Too bad Vegas agreed with me, or I would have gotten a much bigger payout on that 9-13 final record!!!

Looks like Ripon, Lawrence, Cornell, Grinnell and Beloit pick up wins - and puts LU in position to make the conference tourney

I would think as long as LU beats Monmouth, they would make the MWC Tournament at 10-8 (at worse,) unless Cornell is able to win three of their last four against Monmouth, Lake Forest, Beloit, and Monmuth as Cornell would have the tiebreaker.

Well, it looks like 1-3 wasn't good enough for LU as they finish 10-8 however finish in 5th place, missing out on the MWC Tournament yet again for the eighth straight season.

While LU had a Top 4 finish served up to them on a silver platter after the whole Grinnell mess, a 2-4 finish (combined with a 6-0 finish by Cornell) ended LU's season early once again.

Not all "doom and gloom" with another MWC Tournament miss for LU though!!!!  Should be able to use the money I won in Vegas on LU to finance a t-shirt sale and double or triple my money!!!
