mwc4life - Thanks!  My karma has gone up 3 points since T2K's evil threat.  Do you think the MWC would allow me to donate a few karma points to the final score of the Scots' next game?  It might keep them out of Overtime... :D

Roop, Dolph, your thoughts on Beloits play?

A good look doesn't always mean it's a good shot. The shooter needs to be aware if anybody is in position to get a rebound if the shot is missed. In the first half Beloit fired up far too many shots just because they were open. That's fine when you make them but when 2 defenders are always in the paint your team doesn't have much chance to get the boards when you miss. That, more than anything else, created the lopsided rebounding totals.

In the second half they were a little too conservative on offense for my liking. Yes, I know they wanted and needed to score pretty much every time down the floor; but when you're down 20 with under 10 minutes left you've got to let the 3's fly. In that situation just catch and shoot and don't bother thinking about it. It's only one loss whether you lose by 15 or 50.

I didn't sit close enough to the bench to hear every word but was close enough to know that most of the time out conversations were not friendly. I don't claim to speak for the team but I think it goes without saying that they all are frustrated and disappointed with their performance. That's good, it means they care. When you care you can put bad nights past you and move on.

As a Beloit Memorial grad myself I like C.J. Tubbs the more I see him. His defense has greatly improved and in the Ripon game he got more aggressive on offense. Not much of a shooters touch at the moment but that will come. Keep taking it to the hole CJ. In time nobody will be able to stop you.

The LU defensive style causes lazy refs to miss things--and they sure did on both sides of the ball last night.

If the refs can't keep up with Larry's pace, what shot in H-E-double-toothpicks do they have of calling GC's games?

??? ;D

I agree with you Systemfan.  But GC fouls are usually pretty obvious.   And when you get 44 baskets in the paint, most uncontested, the refs just have to watch GC inbound the ball.

I won't be doing what I threatened to do.  It's too much work.

Hey MWC for life, after your quote that the performance from Towns last night was a joke.  FYI, he shouldn't of even been playing, He has a severly sprained ankle and is battling a respiritory virus since thanksgiving.  He gave it all he had, even though he can hardly walk!  The others have to step it up and no-one, including Hinz played defense.  Ripon definately wanted the game more than Beloit.  BC came out flat, uninspired and acted like they could care less.  They are a very undisciplined offense, and that catches up with you.

I'm not taking sides in this MWC vs. WIAC thing, but I find it amusing that a MWC poster chooses to bash WIAC academics in the venue of spelling. I mean, I'm not the only one who has noticed that a large percentage of MWC posters have absolutely butchered the last name of the league's best player over the past four years. I've even seen Lawrence posters misspell "Braier". And then there's those of you who keep spelling Beloit "Beliot".

I don't usually draw attention to misspellings on Posting Up. It's a minor matter, and it's often more a reflection of a rush to post or of the casualness of the medium than of poor orthographic skills. But when someone's bashing someone else on Posting Up and it's a clear case of "people in glass houses", I make an exception.

Most gratuitous of you Gregory for pointing out the many and perambulus out croppings of inquentious paradoxes of some members of the MWC board. Digressing against neighboriously other conferences is not without it's shortcomuppances. We will seek to define the matter of the heart in this indulgence and truthfully we will acquiesce.

You are indisputably, and I verbalize this without any superfluous nanoseconds of cogitation contemplated on my behalf, the Don King of Posting Up, Roop. Most indubitably.  :D

The Roop

Oh don't worry. "The Roop" can matriculate if need be.

A truce may be ratified however if the Viking might comment on when ever or not a correspondy genius wrote a preverbalarly articulate about a meaninglessness MWC game.

The Roop

It is settled then.............. "The Roop" has heard the cries from the millions and millions of "The Roops" fans.  Other commitments (mainly work) do not allow "The Roop" to make an appearance in Chicago-land this year, however, Kenosha Wisconsin is a short pilgrimage for all those seeking to become one with the New Roop Order.

Yes, it is true. "The Roop" will appear at the Kenosha Bratwurst, Tile Center and Basketball gym this Saturday. Otherwise known locally as the Van Male Arena. Yes I have hotel money but ladies please bring valid I.D's as I don't want to go to jail.

you are absolutely the man.

NUT

The Roop

There we have it citizens. LU_nut has now requested that "The Roop" visit the Lawrence Campus. This pains "The Roop" however LU_nut. Prior to my becoming "The Roop" I was there many times. 1 of 3 was a 1989 graduate of LU in Biology. Cum louda, or taco grande' is what the Dean said. PPPFFFFFFttttttt "The Roop" heard all about it for longer than "The Roop" cared to. A move to Kentucky followed.

Calm, peace, passive............

Fast forward 15 years and the New Roop Order was established.

Yes LU_nut. The dark side left the Lawrence campus at the same time 1 of 3 did. "The Roop" would be honored to join you there for the Beloit game.
