jeffdc - This isn't entirely "The Roop's" fault.  Remember that Gregory S. was so generous as to grace us with his presence.  And we're all so much smarter for it.   :P
HEY PAL, DON'T BLOCK THE SHOT!

Old Fighting Scot

It is a sad sad day when MC loses to "them" at home....

indoor track season, its faaaaantastic!!!
I could be wrong, but I doubt it....

Mission Man

I personally found it a glad, glad day that "they" (KC) beat the Scots at Glennie. And I'm not sure that Rogers' foot wasn't touching the line on the shot at the end of regulation.

Anyway, a great win for Prairie Fire basketball. Now for IC and GC in the next four days........

scottie

So...you mean to say that Rogers should have had only two free throws instead of three?   :)

First of all, I apologize to all Beloit fans saying Towns play was a "joke."  I did not know he was fighting a virus as well as an ankle injury...it makes sense though cause I know how good he can be.

Man, I was looking at the schedule and 8-8 could very well make the 4th seed.  Looking at Grinnell's schedule, they could definitely come back down to the pack.  After Ripon plays Carroll on Tuesday, they will have played LU, GC, CC, all on the road....don't count out Ripon just yet!

I don't want to say "I told you so" but...  Maybe Monmouth will go on a 8-1 streak to end the season and sneak into the playoffs.  ha ha!   ;D

IF MC WINS 7 OF THE NEXT 8 I WILL BE IN GBURG TO SEE THAT 8TH WIN. YOU CAN COUNT ON IT.

UNTIL THEN, LETS JUST SAY I WONT BE CALLING MY TRAVEL AGENT JUST YET, THOUGH I AM VERY SAD TO SAY IT.....

I think you may be right on 8-8, but I hope you're wrong on GC.

It would be quite a colapse to go from 5-1 to 8-8. Anything's possible, but they're 2-1 on the road and 3-0 at home. Assuming they can win 3 of their remaining 5 at home, that means they have to lose all their remaining road games. I think their talent level makes that unlikely.

Any non-GC people out there who have seen the Pioneers play think that they are likely to lose 7 of their remaining 10?

BTW, if making 8-8 gets you in the tournament, it also likely gets you the chance to play Larry again. Is that really a win?

The Roop

mwc4life,

Yeah, gotta be careful about what you say because the players do read these boards. Not sure what to think about 8-8 making it in, although I'd probably be disappointed if that happened. It would mean lots of teams capable of stepping up never stepped up. The perception would then be of a mediocre conference not a well balanced one.

hey I'm biased (not as much as JeffP, perhaps) - but I can say that this year's Grinnell team is one of the toughest, grittiest, and most versatile that I've seen. I don't know where they'll end up at the end of the season, but I can promise that they'll play their heart out. And they won't end up 8-8. No way.

Which of course is bad news for LFC, KC, etc....   :)
Threes are better than twos....

Dolph Stanley

"BC came out flat, uninspired and acted like they could care less.  They are a very undisciplined offense, and that catches up with you."

Playing what at one time was your biggest rival in a game you must win to have any shot at making the top four, coming off a heartbreaking one point loss at home to a mediocre IC team and you come out flat and acting like you could care less?  Who gets the blame for that?  Is that sound I hear outside my window a north wind carrying a hot coaching property to Beloit for 06-07?

The Roop

This just in..................(imagine news flash sound effects)............

"The Roop" has just learned through entirely made up sources that Beloit College has contacted the stables at Carroll College. The inquiry was made for the purposes of renting some mules and tomorrow they plan to beat them.

Maybe these Mules would help...

And, the Jennies could play for the women's team...

The Roop

Beloit is 3-0 all time versus Central Missouri State so there is a precedent for mule beating.
