Was that during the 40's or 50's?

Dolph~

I don't really know who to blame, but it was a really really bad showing for Beloit.  I can easily say it was the worse showing I have ever seen Beloit put forth since i've been watching MWC hoops.

Guys-

With two teams as dominate as LU and CC....and possibly GC winning a bunch of games, it indeed does open the door for an 8-8, 9-7 team to make it this year.  It would probably mean there are 3 or 4 teams around the 7-9, 8-8, 9-7 record....for what that says about our league...I don't know.

With my comments regarding GC possibly falling...I don't expect Grinnell to fall to 8-8 at all...but they definitely could fall to 9-7.  They have beaten the likes of Beloit, and IC at home (not really world movers) and Ripon.  They barely beat St. Norberts and MC on the road.  They are winning the close games, but the road gets a lot harder after that(Lake Forest, @Knox, Carroll, Larry, MC, @Ripon, @Beloit, @IC, Knox, and @LFC)....even the home games become a lot harder. 4 of the last 5 games are away!!!

-Also, playing Larry is not like playing Larry in years past....I also wouldn't be surprised to see CC in that number one seed.

Scottie,

Probably............. I'm not sure when the two teams last played and my trusty Beloit program only has all time records.

Scottie,

I think they always have been. Back before Al Gore invented the internet I would read about CMSU in the Sporting News. They'd usually publish a top 300 teams list from all divisions and associations at seasons end and CMSU was always in the 160-180 range.

Where are the Carroll fans ??? I'm doing some fine trash talking and no one is answering the call. What's going on. Was your cell block locked down today so that you didn't have work release privileges, therefore no computer access. Did you not conclude that I have suggested Beloit is going to beat you like rented mules tomorrow. Considering your school only approximately knew how many graduated last year perhaps a conclusion is too much to expect. OK, fire bad, food good. We'll take it one step at a time.

I got a kick out of your approximate-graduation dig at Carroll, Roop. Bottom line, though, is that Carroll is cannier than you think. Getting Oprah on campus to see her niece graduate might translate into some beaucoup bucks flowing into the Carroll coffers at some point. Oprah's so stinking rich that she can buy and sell entire countries. According to Forbes she was worth $1.1 billion in 2004. Heck, we're talking Grinnell money. :D

jeffdc - This isn't entirely "The Roop's" fault.  Remember that Gregory S. was so generous as to grace us with his presence.  And we're all so much smarter for it.   :P

Don't fight their fight for them just because they were in the CCIW at one time. You must remember that the IQs of both conferences went down when they came to the MWC.

I think of Illinois College, Carroll, and Lake Forest as traitors.  ;) And I'd use that "IQ of both conferences going down" quip to describe Millikin defecting from you to us when the CCIW was formed in '46.

I'm just saying, is all. I'd kill to have an Oprah niece on the NPU campus, especially since my alma mater is a fifteen-minute ride up the Kennedy Expressway from Harpo Studios rather than all the way up in South Milwaukee Waukesha. We had a Warren Buffett niece at NPU about fifteen years ago, so I'm still holding out hope that the Wizard of Omaha is going to come through for the Park.

High school was about all the education "The Roop" could stand. Although I did graduate from the Professional Education Institute majoring in Carleton Sheets studies. So you'll have to splain to me who Warren Buffett is. If he is from Omaha perhaps he could bring some of that famous meat with him and we'll have a Prime Rib Buffett. That's a buffett I understand.

Warren Buffett is the second richest man on planet earth, with a net worth somewhere north of $30 billion.  (In fact, depending upon the price of Microsoft stock, there may be days where he is #1.)

Odds are, if he ever chose to come through, NPU's endowment would double overnight!

The Roop

Ahhhhh, that explains why I've never heard of him. I've got a Mac.

No, no, Buffett has nothing to do with Microsoft.  I just meant that on some days he may out-rank Bill Gates.

I've always been intrigued by the Microsoft name - is there any other company ever named for its founder's anatomical shortcomings?! :o

The Roop

Ok, I see. I'll never understand why anybody would need more money than they could possibly spend.

I'm not at all familiar with shortcomings, so I can only speculate about them. I find it odd, however, that an entire conference would name itself after a Community College In Wheaton.

Greek Tragedy

You know that chick who wears all that makeup on the Drew Carey Show?  She was at my brother's graduation ceremony in high school because, apparently, she was in the 1st class to ever graduate from his high school and they were celebrating the 25th anniversary at that point.  So, she talked a lot about nothing.  But, heck, she's famous, I guess.  ???

At least double. NPU's endowment is walking-around money for Warren Buffett.
