BTW, Carroll's schedule of playing at Grinnell at 7:00 PM Friday and then playing in Jacksonville at 3:00 PM the next day is no picnic either!

You forgot to mention hosting Ripon tonight. They are more of a challenge than people think.

No doubt.

BTW, how much would it cost to arrange a little disturbance outside the hotel where Larry will be staying Friday night? All we're looking for is a slightly more tired Braier on Saturday. (Then again that may just make him cranky. Is he like Alec Karras in Blazing Saddles? "Don't shoot him; it'll only make him mad...")

Jeff gave me a good review of the hostelling options in Grinnell.  I can't imagine it would be too hard to figure out where they are.  World Football considers it part of the home-field advantage to keep the visitors up all night at the hotel.  I'm sure the enlightened sports fans of the MWC could go along with that.

Hey, nightlife in Grinnell is pretty hot anyway. I imagine Braier will be up all night just soaking it in.
Threes are better than twos....

er, correction: that should be 'soaking it *up*'.

I guess I learned big words and no grammar at GC, eh?  :'(

Thats ok, dc. My grammar never went to GC either.

Miami Beach- Midwest, if you will.

I wish I could figure a way to get up there for Friday night too, but I'm not sure my work schedule will allow it.

Hey Jeff,

Do you have wireless access at Saint's Rest or is that too corporate for you?

Jeffp, You can run but you can't hide. Besides, there are hundreds of older guys with pony tails out there, right? Especially in Galesburg.  ;D

That's probably very true.  If you see any walking around in a trench coat, my advice is to turn and walk (or run) the other way.

Hoops Fan-
Yup we do, and I'm so jaded by it that I dumped the line-based one out at the farm.
BTW. Grinnell nightlife? If our sidewalk/street construction work was done, we would still roll'em up at 8:00pm!

Scottie-so maybe my trenchcoat disguise idea WOULD be a good one!?

Tonights game would appear to be huge for Knox.  If I read the schedule right (always questionable) this begins a string of four home games in eight days for them.  If they can beat Grinnell tonight, they get SNC on Friday, Beloit on Saturday and then LFC on next Tuesday.  Clearly there are no easy games in the MWC this year but if Know can run the table or even go 3-1 in those games it could give them a little breathing room in the number 4 slot prior to going on the road to face Carroll and Lawrence back to back the first weekend in Feb.

Indeed, it is a big game for both teams. I hope Paul Nordlund will travel with the team because his presence on the bench Saturday for the LFC game made a huge difference in team spirit.

I think what you might be seeing tonight, JeffP, is the third and fourth teams in the MWC this year - the exact order which is yet to be determined.  I like the chances of both teams, although I won't be rooting for one.

Very sad about Nordlund.  I remember him as a high school player and have been amazed to watch his game adapt to the System style of play.

You don't have to worry about being corporate Jeff.  In fact we've got a local pizza place around here that sells t-shirts saying "Corporate Pizza Sucks!"  you might be able to apply that to the Rest.
