Bring your checkbook when you come to JeffP's place. They sell art as well as coffee.

um, yes, so now we're back to the grammar and punctuation police?

Yes, tonight is big for GC but based on the LFC game, I think KC is in for a tiring game. Plus, they'll most likely lose.

But I'm biased.

OK, dc. Your last chance to go to Galesburg! P and I are leaving in a few minutes. Shouldn't take too long to get there the way the wind is blowing, but It might take a day to get back ;)

I'll try to go to an internet savvy Iowa rest stop to give a brief report on the way back.

Good luck to everyone today...'cept the Prairie Fire, of course!

Indeed, it is a big game for both teams. I hope Paul Nordlund will travel with the team because his presence on the bench Saturday for the LFC game made a huge difference in team spirit.

Team spirit?  Those GC guys have too much spirit.   There is enough talent on that team that I think they might want to abandon the system and play it straight up.  But I suspect they will not and the result will be a good but not great record.  Just my opinion.

Ripon at Carroll....just doesn't give me a good vibe. :-\

Ripon has never played well at Carroll.  It is a very tough place to play.  I am pretty sure Ripon is 2-4 there in the last 6 years.  However, this year Ripon is the definite underdog.....you never know. ;)

Thoughts?

This is the best I've felt for a Ripon/CC game in a long time...strange i know...

The reason I say this is every year Ripon goes down there, they are the favorite, the top 25 team and have everything to lose.  While Ripon still is playing for a shot at conference, CC has to prove that they are deserving of a top 25 ranking.  Plus, I like some of Ripon's match-ups with Schmitting having no one that can guard him on CC.  CC is obviously the better team right now, but Ripon has always been known to step up its game against higher quality oppenents.  I still feel that CC will win, but it will be a close close game.  If Ripon ever decides to feed Schmitting more then 7 times a game, they might just have a shot.

You are right on the importance of the Knox/GC game tonight.  I actually had to look back on the pickem page as to who I picked.  I really like the two Knox forwards, Macklin and Zick and picked Knox as the 4th place team before the year started.  What makes this game such a toss up in my view is that the Knox guards are not very good at this point.....and that is usually trouble against the pressure that GC brings.  I will be anxious to see how the game comes out.  If GC losses, they could have a real ugly week.

Very sorry to hear about Nordlund.  I have followed Lu ball for 10 years and think he is one of the more interesting players that I have seen.  Not only a good shooter, but a very good shot blocker...probably the best in the league.  He had a couple of very nice blocks at LU recently that were called fouls.   I would have liked to see what he could do as a "3" in a regular offense.  I think he would have been a nightmare to guard.

Carroll is ripe for the upset and no one is talking about Ripon because of the success of two other MWC programs.  If Carroll is going to lose a home game in which its favored, this is probably the one.

Same tired argument - geez, if GC would just play 'normal', all would be well.

Let's see where the season ends up, shall we?

In the meantime, here in GC-land, normal = boring.
