I'm not sure what the score was, but Ripon won by close to 30 pts.for the second straight day against  LFC.  I believe the score was something close to 82-53. 

I went to the game and saw a completely different basketball team then the one I saw play @ Carroll and @ LU.  They seem to have found their chemistry and good line-ups.  Their defense was smoothering at times and caused two shot-clock violations...I really don't know what to tell you.  The players were talking to each other more, they seemed intent on getting stops and playing defense.  They ran very smooth motion.  Dave McMullen also played great this weekend.  He really used his quickness on both ends of the floor...LFC had no one to match his quickness and the took advantage by attacking the basket.

Well, it was a sad weekend in Grinnell---but for just a few minutes. Certainly not the best shooting nite for the Pioneers from treyland-in fact maybe the toughest nite in a long time, I haven't seen the box.
Still lots to cheer about as Kieth and Jr continue to show great improvement. this Larry defense is spectacular. The guards are quick and strong. Braier is certainly POY from what Ive seen (and believe me Ive seen enough! Sheesh!) and maybe is POY USA. SMART SMART SMART!!! (johnny did make him look goofy afew times though and that was nice too ) Tharp really is a fine tactical coach as well.
But hey! Grinnell is loaded with 1st and 2nd year talent! One more good recruiting class and we float right to the top.
What a pleasure to meet you, Hoops Fan! Such an eye opener to have an unbiased opinion throughout this game. Your comments about officiating and what needs to be done in this conference is right on the money. Hopefully you will post up your analysis for everyone to read. Your comments about Grinnell were appreciated as well. At least I was able to roll the cloud away much earlier than usual after a tough loss because of the great things you had to say about my favorite team in what was not a typical game for them. Hope to see you in Grinnell again soon!

Also want to thank Beloit for beating KC and giving us a bit of tourney breathing room for a day or two or at least until MC comes to town! Knox must have missed Tuesday night s oafs!

Josh Hinz became Beloit's all time career leading scorer (1,776 pts)and rebounder today, surpassing Ron Bontemps (1,700 pts.) as career scoring leader and Henry Grant as the career rebound leader.  Congratulations to Josh, who accomplished this on some pretty bad Beloit teams.

You are correct in your assessment of the LU squad and its players and coaches.

I would be careful speaking of anything "floating to the top" if I was trying to be positive.  Have you ever been to a wastewater treatment plant?  If Grinnell is floating to the top, it will not be pretty or smell too good.  I'd consider another description if I was you.

Good thing that LU keeps winning as the Oshkosh Titans dropped another today so the SOSI or QOWI or whatever is dropping every time the Titans lay an egg.   What the hell is going on down in Oshvegas?

Off to Ripon on Tuesday, I know that Gillespie will love to see me.

well the bucs have won 3 in row......looking at the pick-em page most thought they would lose....big road wins this weekend.....was not at tonights game but was at the LF game....the Bucs look like they've found some new engery.....Hinz is ubelieble....he's playing ...shall i say it...great defense too. his scoring and rebounding and now playing def.....if BC makes into the conf tourny i think there should be hi consideration for Hinz as POY.

Congrats to Hinz on breaking the records....He's doing it  in a much more team oriented fashion this year.

And I had been down on Fiek and Towns but they have been playing very very well these past few games. Skelton has been huge off the bench as well. And inserting Horton into the starting lineup really adds alot.

Yes non-hackers. Lawrence will lose a game OR TWO. Beloit, as "The Roop" selected in the pickems won both of their games this weekend. Sorry Knox fans but you've lost to LU, CC and Beloit; now twice. Then you have to play LU and CC again so you're out of the race.

Now, with 4 of their next 6 games at home, and a very winnable game @St. Norbert can anyone tell "The Roop" why Beloit should not be the #3 seed in the MWC Tournament?
