So did Hinz have anything out of the ordinary to say?

I just caught the tail end of it.  Not really.

AND IN A SHOCKING DEVELOPMENT, JOSH HINZ WAS NAMED CONFERENCE PERFORMER OF THE WEEK! WOW

Alright guys,

I have sort of recovered from realizing Ripon has wasted another year of talent.  What a depressing sports week(end) (Illini, Redhawks, Bulls).

I don't know why everyone has Ripon making the Tournament.  It would be looking great for them right now if they could've beaten the Circus at home.  But apparently Stozar gym is no longer a home-court advantage (3/4 losses at home).  Ripon needs win out in order to make the tournament.  I really doubt that they can make it with an 8-8 record (assuming they lose to CC at home) unless Beloit and KC lose the rest of their games...which is very doubtful.  I'm almost positive Ripon wins no tie-breakers, unless they somehow beat CC...again doubtful.

Obviously you can see I'm frustrated, but how do you go from almost beating LU to getting rocked at home to Grinnell....I'm not saying Grinnell is a bad team, but you should win your home games.

I wouldn't be surprised if Ripon laid an egg in De Pere....they are just impossible to predict.

If Monmouth beats Knox tonight, I could see an 8-8 tie for the last spot.  The other team would be the winner of the Beloit-Ripon game.  I think all three teams are still alive, albeit barely.

The word was Kwyjibo.

We had Kwyjibo as our Trivia Team Name about 10 years ago in the annual Stevens Point trivia contest held by the student radio station, dubbed the world's largest trivia contest.  It's been going on annually for the past 30+ years.

And since we are in the MWC board, it puts that Larry U trivia contest to shame! lol.  ;)

Except Lu's has been going on for 41 now....  Ours is bigger.  Ours is better.  At least we can beat point at something

mwc4life, couldn't agree with you more. I literally lost sleep due to the Illini loss (it was the last thing I saw before my head hit the pillow ... I kept waking up wondering if it had really happened!). The Scots also lost thanks to Big Bad Bo, and both of my kids' games were disasters. Was that the night the Suns went crazy on the Bulls, too?

One of my worst days as a fan in recent memory, but at least I'm not a Seattle Seahawks fan. They definitely got "oafed."

anybody else see the first time regional rankings???  As I predicted, both Lu and Carroll are in very good shape to make the post season.  If LU holds serve, they deserve home court all the way to the final four.

mwc4life:

I think you have greatly overstated the talent and performance of Ripon.  the LU game in ripon wasn't as close as the scoreboard suggested and when its crunch time, Ripon's big dogs turn into puppies.   Doesn't appear to be a great tema concept there, just a few supposed stars who are on the court together (BJ, Schmitting, Wise).

I bet Tharp could get those guys to the top of the MWC.   Mr. Rodgers seems to have failed.

Sorry for the blunt assessment.  Accept it and clear your head.

I'll take the bait...OVERSTATED??? Not sure what you mean by that

Both LU games were very close...I was at both, stop talking nonsense

We will see just how good LU is without a player/coach in Bopper out there....lets just put it this way, when you're Ripon College and you fail to make the conference tournament, it was EVERYONE's FAILURE.  He's been there a long time now and has been winning championships for a long time...waaaay longer then Tharp...three great seasons doesn't put you on Gillie's level as a coach....and if you even bother to tell me that Ripon's old teams never made past the 2nd round...well I'll tell you that I'd laugh in your face if you thought any of the LU teams could have beaten the great North Park, Platville, Wesylen teams of the 80's and 90's.

Oh yeah EVERYONE is coming back on Ripon's team next year...

Woah.

Woah.

Woah.

You can talk as much **** about LU sports as you want...but you're treading on dangerous territory here, what with insulting Trivia. Let's just back off and calm down here. LU trivia is not only the greatest trivia competition in the country, but it might just be the greatest thing in the country. I can tell you with absolute confidence that LU trivia would destroy Chuck Norris in a cagematch, and would be second overall in NHL history in points scored. I'm sure you have a nice trivia competition at SP, and yes...you did knock us out of the NCAAs two years in a row, but...woah. Back the eff off on trivia.

That was really hard for me to deal with. I need to go regroup before Beloit. Some other LU fan/non delusional person needs to take up this fight whilst i'm away.
