I have much more respect for posters like mwc4life through Ripon's tough season or jeffp who is always posting game reports, even after Grinnell losses and Old Fighting Scot to name a few.

Not at all, dude.  I was complimenting you!  ;)

Somebody with enough posts needs to start a poll on this board. Who goes the farthest in the NCAA. Lawrence, Carroll or an upset winner in the MWC Tournament; if there is a third team.

1.)  How many posts do you need to do that?  I can't.

2.) Why don't we wait to see who MAKES the NCAA tourney first.  ;)

Whoa! Congrats to Carroll for making a HUGE jump in the polls from 22nd to 14th!!!

Wednesdays game between the two should be one of the best in the country

(outside of the Grinnell vs Knox game, of course)

Too bad nobody outside of the MWC will know about the LU/CC game.  I guarantee that a CCIW game (Augie v. IWU...heck, maybe even North Park v. Carthage) will receive the top billing & photo on the home page the next morning.

I wouldn't say that -- Carroll sends us photos from games on a pretty regular basis and we would use one if news warrants it. Since it's Carroll's home game, I would hope we would get a game photo to use.

I'll second that, Patrick.  You "meatheads" be sure to tell your SID to do his/her thing and send d3hoops the goods.

p.s.  Pat, shouldn't you be out shoveling?

p.p.s.  I'm 6'0" tall and never could dunk.  Got the rim a couple of times...

4) C'mon Knox...you haven't been to the MWC tourney in what seems like forever. Make it happen.

But it's been even longer for a couple other teams: Beloit (1994-95) and, unfortunately, Monmouth (1998-99) :-[.

For the record, Beloit limped in in 01-02 with an 8-8 mark.  Just wanted to make sure no one accused you of evil in your intentions. ;)

OK, did a little double-checking to be sure this time and found that while Beloit did finish 2001-02 at 8-8, they still didn't qualify for the MWC Tournament.  The 4 teams were SNC, RC, IC, and GC (tournament was played at SNC).

Cole R. was my favorite Pioneer of all time. He had mad hops, although to me it seemed more liked "psychotic hops." That guy was in a world of his own. His own solar "system" if you will.

Key word...psychotic.  That guy was definitely in his own world--but that made it even more fun to holler at him during games since it made him look like he was just about to completely flip out! ;)

p.p.s. - 5'9" here, never dunked, but used to be able to get rim. ;D  The good ole days...

Dude, I'm from Minnesota. It took me 20 minutes to shovel that measly 10 inches!  ;D

Since swimming doesn't have its own board and since it isn't included on the list of possible coverage here at D3sports.com, I am proud to report that Grinnell College swept the MWC conference Men's and Women's Swimming meet in large fashion. Congrats to the team and to the 3 NCAA D3 tourney qualifiers INCLUDING Saints Rest employee and Diver Extraordinaire Sarah Stayer!  Ms Stayer tore her ACL last spring while pole vaulting. In the last few months, due to lack of strength in her injured leg, She has had to change take-off to her other leg. Quite an accomplishment, doncha think?

I'm pretty sure you have to be the poster who started the thread to post a poll.  You have to be the actual one (highlighted in the region page) and not the one they made the author by default when they switched the site over.

I'm not sure the specifics of that, though.

There might be a connection between this type of coaching and the reason two RC affiliated (through parents) ballers are at other MWC schools.

Yes Hoops, please fill us in here on the ballers of RC affiliated elsewhere in the MWC
