Yabeccha, dc!

Absolutely NOTHING against Knox players here, but this team wants this V as much as any in the past few months. Win or lose, I wouldn't want to play GC tonight. My guess is that the student fan base(ball team) has been filled in on what happened at Knox a few weeks ago - go Tiny! - and will be in tip top form. Wait til you walk past that tonight, KC! ;D

jeffp - Regarding what happened at Knox a few weeks ago (and you know a Monmouth guy isn't gonna slant this in Knox's favor at all :D).  I looked back at the official's names in the box scores from some of the Knox games and some of the Grinnell games from earlier this season and found that one of the officials who worked the GC @ KC game (KC 114, GC 113) on Jan. 24 also worked the IC @ GC game (GC 133, IC 105) back on Jan. 7.  Just thought it was interesting that the same ref (who worked a game where everyone says Grinnell got hosed by the officials on the road) also worked a Grinnell home game (where they won by plenty)... ;)  Wouldn't that be something if the same official was 1 of the 3 hired to work tonight's game?! :o

I gotta agree with Early.  Not having any loyalty towards either side (or any money on the game :)), I would prefer to listen to LU fans on this board rather than the CC fans.

On a side note, I think I may have just gone Stevie K. with all those smiley faces!

What's the world coming to, that we have to decide whether we'd listen to CC or LU fans gloat??  ::)

Me, I'm pulling for GC fans gloating. We're more literate, y'know. Just ask JeffP!

Grinnell fans won't have a chance to gloat about anything unless the Pioneers win the MWC Tournament and we don't have to worry about that until next weekend!  So for listening to regular season conference champion gloating, those that decide to choose who they would prefer can do so between Lawrence fans and Carroll fans. :)

jeffp - He actually worked the KC @ MC game on Jan. 18 also--I know it's spelled differently in the box score from that game but it was the same guy.  I don't remember if he was much of a factor in that game or not since I was too busy watching the Scots get hammered in every phase of the game by the Fire for most of the night until the miracle run at the end sent it to OT.  By the way, tremendous literacy!

Key words in your statement:
"I don't remember if he was much of a factor..."

Sounds like he was a wallflower in that game, too. ;D :D ;D

Good point there and I can see where you're coming from. I tend to agree most of the time with people when they say that the best officiated games are the ones where you generally don't notice the officials.  Either way, you're probably right that he may not have made many calls for Monmouth or for Knox on that night.

OK, let's talk about something REALLY interesting. JeffP, predictions on Grotberg's game total today? Chamberlain's? Arsenault's assists? Ticus's steals?  After all, these are the things that will bedevil CC and LU when we defeat them at tourney!  ;D

Less than 5 hours to one of the most anticipated matchups in recent MWC history.  I am expecting an attendence approaching 1500, should be a great college basketball atmosphere.  Pio Dome will be rockin.

Come on guys, I can't believe you would rather listen to the Larry fans talk about there undefeated regular season than hear the Carroll fans talk about one big win.  When was the last undefeated confrence regular season in the MWC?

Durry won't call the flip,  Wallace is the guest caller and he just returned from Italy with the gold in flip calling.  Go Pios

Early

falco, St. Norbert when undefeated in conference in 2001-2002, and I think Lake forest went undefeated in conference regular season in 1999-2000.  I don't know the last time a team went undefeated through the conference, regular season AND conference tourny.
Lawrence spoiled LF's season in '00 (and lost to Ripon in championship)
Ripon spoiled SNC's season in '02 (in the champoinship)
Ray, when a supernatural being asks if you are a god....YOU SAY YES!!!

Ryan Scott (Hoops Fan)

I like the underdog story, but I think the undefeated season wins out, especially since I've been pimping them as #1 for a while now.  I have to go with Lawrence.

Good luck to all.

Grotberg will score 44 tonight, just an odd gut feeling.

11 3s and 11 free throws. It would be pretty spooky if he played only 22 minutes and got the 44 points.

I'm also rooting for Scotland to win gold in the bobsled.

I'm fine with that Scottie, however, lets not have a movie about the team.
