Payback time. Although KC led for much of the 1st half, GC then established a lead and never let go. And this is with Grotberg on an off night. Excellent efforts by Kennedy, Ticus, Martinez, Carlson - gee, might as well mention the entire bench - Coach A played 'em! Great slow down at the end - it was worth it to see the KC coach grow redder and redder and redder....

JeffP will jump in later on with the 'literate' overview of the game, I'm sure!

I was following that LU vs. CC live stats page also. Game winner by Kevin Bradley as time expired it appears...must've been a hell of a game there tonight. Can't wait to hear what those who saw it firsthand have to say on it.

I don't suppose any IC posters have a final score from tonight's MC vs. IC game...

I did a quick peek (my first) on the CCIW board and it looks like Augie and IWU are also having a barn burner.

But if the LU/CC game isn't worthy of top billing on the home page of this site, I don't know what is? Right, Pat?

scottie - Still no word out of those IC posters huh?? Been checking the MWC page, the IC and MC websites, as well as the scoreboard page here--but no final reported anywhere yet. I also was following the CCIW in-game updates for awhile; along with the game you mentioned, North Central and Elmhurst had a good one too that ended a bit ago.

Go figure. Grinnell plays ragged ball most of the way. Grotberg couldn't hit the Mississippi River from Memorial Bridge. Macklin, Harper and Zick score 19 each and Estergard adds 14.

I have to echo dc's comments. Lots of folks stepped up when needed. Grotberg was cold but still led all scoring with 21 points. Jr took control, Schmidt continues to play great all round ball, Ticus, Long, Chamberlain, Roewe, Langenhan all played hard. Never any quit in this team.

Favorite play? Up by 16 with just a few seconds to go. Senior Carlson throws an unbelievable pass to Senior Kennedy who puts up a trey from the corner. NOTHIN' BUT NET!! You can call it unnecessary or even score run uppin'. I call it two seniors doing what they do best and showing the best of system ball on the last play of their home careers.

Little harder to win 5 on 5, eh, Knox?

Sounds like a great game at Carroll, anxious to hear more. Sorry i can't wait up for the other scores, hope they all turned out to be great games!

Boy I really hate that for Ripon. 1st time all year 4 Bucs have hit multiple threes. Yeah, I really hate that for Ripon. Too bad all Beloits 3s couldn't have went in tonight. When Ripon is 0-23 for the next 25 years I'll still complain about why they broke the streak and motion that the team they beat be excused from the conference. Nice win for Beloit but 10 points isn't enough as far as I'm concerned.
