Titan2000 (other members of the board, brace yourselves) "The Roop" could not have said it any better.

The New Roop Order hereby welcomes Titan2000 as a permanent member. With all undue perambulations as it pertains.

I hereby accept the New Roop order membership.  I get perambulated all the time, so I am prepared for whatever this new distinction brings my way.

Before some greedy Larry U fan tries to scalp me a ticket, don't bother.  That's not the point.  Had I liked to have gone, it's not a priority.  The point is that it's a horrible ticket policy and I would only hope Larry U has set aside a certain number of tickets for traveling supporters for opposing teams.  Don't give me this, "It happens" crap.  The policy is a total joke.

How will we scalp tickets when they won't sell them to us early, either?  And don't start that crap again, regarding the Quandt experience, that was one of your darkest moments.   :(

We let it go, you should too.  :-X

Regarding Carroll.  I for one believe they are a top 10 team and have thought so for most the year.  I have seen a couple of CCIW teams this year and I think Carroll is top 10.  As I have said before, I could see them getting sent West and if they have the necessary guts to win on the road, going a long way.

Regarding tickets.  keep in mind that the Carroll/GC game is first, so if there are limited tickets, it might be to the advantage of their fans.

Maybe if you ask nicely i will buy two tickets and sell you one.At a increased price of course.I need to make something on the deal.If im going to leave early and drive 5 minutes to gt there.LARRY ALL THE WAY,SAY HEY LARRY GO ALL THE WAY!!!!!
I love these guys who are bandwagon fans that decide they need to talk crap to someone like Old School who has contributed so much information to this board.  I really respect the guys like "larry u" and "Sam Johnson" (even though he lost the pick'em from last season ;D) who support their teams but have an open mind about other teams.  I have a hard time listening to guys who feel the need to stuff things down people's throat whether it be Lawrence, or Waupaca High School athletics. ::)

Buy the ticket and then run out to the end of the line and sell them!  :D

I edited my post and removed the Quandt experience.  Though venting, I rethought my post and felt it was best to not bring that up again.   :)  You must have read my post while I was editing it.  It won't be brought up again.  You are right, it was an ugly time for both Lawrence fans and Point fans and it took away from the game itself.  Case closed.

I don't see Lawrence or Carroll getting upset in the semis and the loser should be a safe Pool C selection.

IT HAPPENS,I WILL BE THERE INSIDE,I'LL SAY HI TO YOU WHILE YOU ARE OUTSIDE LOOKING IN.Take a day off work or something.

Wow...that's all I'm sayin'.

I am pissed about this policy.  Its unfair to anyone who works, period.   >:(  The better move would be to have the tickets available via phone, with rules attached (e.g. you must show by 6pm or your tickets will be released...something like that).  I'm begging anyone i know in A-town to take the time to grab tix for me... :(

I'm betting LU set aside tix for the other teams...if they didn't, I'm going to be very embarrassed.  :-\

I think it should also be noted that this decision had to be approved by the MWC folks...at least I'm assuming considering this a conference event, not an LU event.  Still a stupid choice though.

All this ticket BS aside, I'm really looking forward to this weekend.  :D  I'm really hoping that LU can roll into the NCAA's undefeated and be the first team to ever finish the regular and conference tourney season ranked #1 after starting unranked.

QuoteAny thoughts of how I can obtain tickets?

OS, if you know people in Appleton now is the time to call in a favor.  If you've got nothing better to do, I'd say get to LU ASAP and hope you can get lucky.  Otherwise I guess I'd show up early on Saturday so you can see LU vs. Carroll/Grinnell.

Bad situation with the conference tournament ticket policy...sucks for alot of people.  On the other hand though, us Fighting Scots fans don't have to worry about ticket availability at this point of the season! :-[

Also, congrats to LU on reaching the #1 ranking as well as getting some TV time on CBS yesterday!

SJ,

Not an issue.  I got an email saying that is the only way to get tickets.  Anyway, I may head to where ever the WIAC tourney final is since I have seen Alex and LU play in the past.  Ironically, I don't work Friday, but I'm not going to stand in line for so many hours to guarantee myself a ticket. Good luck to all four teams this weekend.  The MWC SID told me it's LU's job since they are hosting.

I also heard the L.A. Times interview Tharp as well.  Maybe they were comparing Larry U to those UCLA teams? lol.  :P

Well, I just sent e-mails to both the MWC commish and the Lawrence AD expressing my concern over the ticket policy.  I want as partisan a crowd as possible, but not at the expense of fairness to the other teams participating.  I know how I'd feel if a Carroll ticket policy reduced my shot at tickets just b/c I was an LU or from out of town.  And if it was Ripon pulling the shenanigans...let's just say the word rampage might be mentioned in the paper the next day.  ;D

If this really was an LU decision, I'm going to apologize on behalf of sane LU fans right now.  If it makes anyone feel better, its shutting out big LU supporters like me too.  :-\  No matter what happens, I hope LU and the MWC learn something from this experience and that nothing similar happens when LU hosts a sectional (Yes, it will happen.  I have channeled my Roop-like powers of foresight and know it to be true.  Sam Johnson has spoken).   :o

Which game is first?  If CC/GC play in the first game (which LU fans might not be as interested in), perhaps there won't be an absolute monopoly at the beginning.  And if LU/KC play first, could the crowd thin out for the second game and let in more of the outta-towners?  Just my $.02.

BTW - OS, I've got your back.  As a "guest" on this board, you've contributed a lot all season.

CC/GC is first.  My interpretation of the rules was that the first 1400 get tickets to both games.

QuoteGeneral admission tickets for the semifinal games go on sale Friday at 3:00 p.m. at Alexander Gymnasium. Tickets are $5 apiece and there is a limit of two tickets per person. Tickets for Saturday's championship game will be available at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at Alexander Gymnasium. Tickets for Saturday's championship game also are $5 apiece, and there is a limit of two tickets per person.

Ticket sales will be capped at 1,400 for both days.

Read for yourself and let me know what you think.

I understand the ticket policy is contested, but understand that if a phone ticket policy was the solution how that would go.  People could just call in with their friends or other peoples names and then grab a monopoly on the tickets.  Credit card sales are not possible as the school doesnt do that over the phone and loses money in the process.  Point being is that life's not always fair, and it never will be.  When you guys want to take a stop out of Thomas Aquainas' works then itll make more sense.  There is no perfect method aside from holding the tourn at the rusch center in green bay.  if you cant go then listen to the games i know carroll and lawrence are both doing webcasts, and buy tickets for Lawrence games in the NCAA, b/c with the #1 seed they will host at least one game.... when it truly counts!

I reread an earlier post and realized I didn't complete explain my competing idea.  You can order over the phone, but b/c LU doesn't do CC's over the phone, you'd have to show up at the door with photo ID and cash/check to claim you tickets.  Tickets not claimed by X:XX PM would be released to the general public.  As I noted before, this wouldn't be ideal either...but it would allow a larger group of fans than LU supporters in Appleton a fair chance at tickets.  Basically it comes down to the fact that there is no good way to handle it.  I just think LU could have done better.

This policy doesn't look too good if you aren't an LU fan and I think its a shame that LU could get a "black eye" over the incident.
