Fleezy, U r right on about the BC situation. That is the case at most D3 programs, but Beloit is definitely a special situation.  The new AD is making steps to get BC to respectibility as an athletics program. Over the past 2 years, BC has appointed a new soccer, volleyball, football and women's basketball coach. Chandler has also instituted halftime giveaways at bball games and other small things to create some kind of energy into athletics. By 2010  it is my feeling that BC will have a new, positive, winning culture around all programs.
Flowers- u are right on with the top MWC players of last 5-6 years. I do feel Hinz is a definite top 10 pick. There have been only 2-3 guys if that who can do the things he can on the court. He did improve his defense as well. (this year he averaged nearly 1 boards a game). He was never a bad defender, but for the team's sake he had to use so much energy on offense.
I agree with about j. allen. Whenhe came back, I actually though he was better. He had the chance to play with 2 of top 10 post in MWC over the past 7 years. 1 and a half  with grant and 2 with hinz.  I saw a majority of his games and the problem was that he was never aggressive enough. Allen was one of few guys who could shoot the three, get to the rack and finsh over bigger defenders, or stop on a dime and hit pull up jumpers off the dribble. He was the main scoring threat on the wing, because towns was at point but J Al. played too passive. Maybe he was playing off of hinz too much. Honestly, they could of been a great inside outside duo, but it never materalized like that.  What do you think flowers. Did u see any games? BTW How r things in madison at UW?

the game

MIstake- Hinz averaged nearly 12 boards to go with 21.3 points.

Sometimes mine does and sometimes it doesn't. For example, now it says "Jobs for College Athletes."

Mine never says any of those things.  I feel so left out.

Not often you hear a guy complain because he doesn't get the ads!

(Now PAT might complain, but you? ;))

Thanks for your comments, but I never said directly that he was wrong...it's MY OPINION as well....Since I came put Becker on the first team first and then Flowers says trust me Kohl is better, wouldn't there be "no possible way" to debate my opinion as well.

Oh wait, I played, and specifically guarded both those guys everyday in practice....maybe I just might have some insight....doubtful though

So the question has to be with with Allen being so great, Hinz being top 2-3, along with Grant, Flowers, Entwistle, Vogt etc. how did Beloit NOT make more tourney apperances? In my opinion Allen was a decent player, but nothing you had to game plan around...Flowers/Hinz/Grant is another story.

Schwannman~

My simple and easy answer is Kenny Spranger.  That guy was awesome.  He didn't do it long enough or win enough to be recognized, but what an underrated player...so athletic.

mwc4life ... we agree. It was good to see Kenny again last month at the Alumni Game, and he's still got game (and hops).

I was being derrogatory.  I really love the level of commitment in this room to the point that guys are arguing over other people's opinions.  It's cool.  It's one of the many reasons why I love the MWC Basketball Board.

This is an article on Espn.com that is one of the sadest stories I've read in a while:

Yeah, April, but they're still 75 pages behind CCIW Chat!  (This was NOT a challenge to a duel!) ;D

(And 146 pages behind if youy toss in CCIW In-Game Updates - both conferences have separate 'pick-ems' boards.)

Yipsi,

We've got some great offseason topics and Haikus planned to catch up with you CCIWers.  (Maybe then we'll get a little respect.)

On the Hinz Briaer arguement -- if you purely look at their bodies I would say Briaer worked harder during his 4 years... not to take anything away from either but the man is solid.

digs,

No disrespect intended - just because we're more loquacious doesn't imply we're more sagacious (or even Sagerious)!

Off-season the posts of Cubs fans alone should keep us up with you, not to mention the other bizarre things we end up posting.  (And if I really felt in a race, I wouldn't have contributed 3-4 haikus myself!)
