Nothing says home court advantage like waiting until the Carroll fans leave, then anounce you have changed the ticket policy and will be selling them at halftime and after the game. No need to wait until 1:00PM tomorrow.

What are you talking about,I dont think anyone from carroll really left.Besides Carroll will have their alotment for sure.Stop the crying already. The sale of the tickets was for the general public. Not for the students or family members of the team. But even if you arent in that catagory you should have stayed or atleast asked about the sale of the tickets.

How would I know that they went on sale if I didn't stay long enough to buy mine ???

I'm not sure what was up...in any case, i can sleep in now and that's all I care about.

Thoughts about both games:

CC vs. GC
Grinnell came out FLYING.  It was System ball the way I remember it from when I thought about attending GC.  Crazy press, hot from outside, lil' Arsenault dropping dimes and crazy left handed shots.  Basically, Grinnell owned the game for about the first 12 minutes.  Carroll was flustered, making many mistakes.  Schepper Sprited a dunk, CC players were missed several layups.  They kept slowing it up and going into the halfcourt offense, which played right into GC's hands (since the press was so effective at that time).  But with about 8 minutes left, CC started to pull it together.  They started filling the lanes on the break and started getting really easy buckets.  They also started defending GC a lot better.  In the early part of the game they seemed confused, giving up layups and penetration/kick.  Once they stopped giving that up, things were ok.  They kept it up in the 2nd half and rolled to an easy W.

GC shot poorly in the 2nd half, which killed the last of their chances.  It was great to see them in person, they put on a great show for much of the game!  Grotberg was great to watch.

LU vs. KC:
KC kept it close at first, but LU's bench came up big with 3's thoughout the game.  I'd like to say a lot about it, but honestly after a relatively close game through 10-15 minutes of the first half, LU just pulled away.  By the end I just wanted the refs to stop the whistles....  ;D

I can't wait till tomorrow...the atmosphere is going to be CRAZY!!!!!!

Lots of irony today before either of the games. I actually saw a Fox trying to cross the road to get to the Fox River.

Why would you ask about the sale of the tickets if it was announced earlier they'd go on sale at 1 pm on Saturday.

What a joke.

Much appreciated.

I just wish I was better at bringing Grinnell luck but my wearing a Grinnell shirt didn't do a thing for them today. Don't worry MWC Fans, the tournament will be an officially sanctioned event as I will wear the colors of "Americas Team" on Saturday.

Oh crap. I left before the second 50/50 drawing was held. Then again I was forced  to leave by security like all the other Carroll fans were.

Had a chance to get into the games at LU tonight.  Sam, what game did you watch in regards to CC and GC? You say Carroll came out and were missing layups. I believe the official stats show that they shot 81% from the floor in the 1st half.  Last time I checked that is a pretty good percentage to shoot.  You also said that they were slowing it up, but yet scored 81 points in 20 minutes.  Carroll had 51 assists, yes 51 assists for a new school record. Carroll scored 153 points for a new school record beating the 150 scored last month at Grinnell.  Roop the reason you are now called a whiner is because you had the audacity to question LU.  It is a joke that they come out with the policy of no pre selling of tickets but then change that so they can sell to their fans at halftime of the LU/Knox game.  I do not think any announcement was made during the Carroll game that would inform the Carroll fans that was going to happen.  Come on lets at least try to be fair to all involved.  Regardless it should be a great game on saturday.

The Roop

dahammer,

I wouldn't worry too much about ticket availability for tomorrow. Yes, the line started forming about 2:00PM on Friday but there were also still plenty of tickets available at halftime of the first game. After the announcement was made I didn't notice many people buying at halftime of the second game. So I'm sure if people want to get in they still can.

Hopefully I'll be at the Wooden Nickel not waiting in line Saturday just like I was at the Wooden Nickel not waiting in line on Friday. Yes, "The Roop" got hooked up in advance but it was a covert op and details can't be revealed.
