Jeffp:

I talked to some Grinnell coeds on Friday night in Appleton--and they said the Saints Rest was a nice place.  They also said you were a passionate man.  Sounded like they had first hand experience.  ::)

Are you the local Don Juan or what ?   ;)

Usually when coeds from a LIBERAL Arts school describe someone as passionate. It means they consider them to be non-threatening.  :D

In a somewhat related subject. The Henry Ford ladies were there Friday as well. They haven't changed any. Git R Done  ;)

Now if they said "creepy" on the other hand...   ;D

Looks like I now have two establishments to put on my "must visit" list...Saints Rest AND The Wooden Nickel.  My retirement project will be a similar establishment in the metro Monmouth area.   :D

Add Domenicos Pizza in Beloit to your list as well Scottie. Anna Marias is also very good but it's in South Beloit. So did doesn't meet the hang out criteria of being in the same town as one of the schools to be considered for All MWC status.

Schwanmann,

I'd have to go with a Sprnager from Monomouth and Bennett a close second, another who I only got to go against once was Stenisch (sp?) I thought he was tough to...

Congrats to Coach Tharp, and LU I coach High School hoops with an LU grad, it's good to see an MWC program enjoy this kind of success...let's cross our fingers and hop Carroll gets a Pool C, as a Beloit I know I'm not suposed to pull for these other schools but the success of these programs can benfit EVERYONE in recruiting if they spin it right...

Hoops Fan~

Thanks for your comments, but I never said directly that he was wrong...it's MY OPINION as well....Since I came put Becker on the first team first and then Flowers says trust me Kohl is better, wouldn't there be "no possible way" to debate my opinion as well.

Oh wait, I played, and specifically guarded both those guys everyday in practice....maybe I just might have some insight....doubtful though

So the question has to be with with Allen being so great, Hinz being top 2-3, along with Grant, Flowers, Entwistle, Vogt etc. how did Beloit NOT make more tourney apperances? In my opinion Allen was a decent player, but nothing you had to game plan around...Flowers/Hinz/Grant is another story.

Schwannman~

My simple and easy answer is Kenny Spranger.  That guy was awesome.  He didn't do it long enough or win enough to be recognized, but what an underrated player...so athletic.

Yeah we should've done more...the year we went 13-10 we should've done much more.,. the year before that we made the tourney, that year we started out 7-2 and then we lost Allen, that hurt us Vogt was a good player but I think not having Allen in the backcourt with him limited his effectiveness, they really played off each others strengths and freed each other up from the responsibility of having to run the offense, losing Allen put us at a disadvantage because we no longer had two guys who could effectively run the show...

The year after that was my senior year, and we were young, we lost three of our starters and the guys who were stepping in didn't have that much experience, so early on we struggled, Hinz and Towns were still figuring things out, but by the end of the season we were playing great ball...

Though we had great individual talent, that is not what wins, basketball is so underrated as a team sport...our teams did not have enough talent to withstand the injuries and ups and downs that come with the grind of a basketball season...So even though we had those great players and their was some overlap in era's it's never about the individual in basketball especially at this level.

With all the concerns about an overloaded Great Lakes, I'm not sure putting 5 Midwest teams in there makes it any less overloaded. Per the projections.

Baldwin-Wallace and Wooster are being moved out of the Great Lakes but Carroll and North Central are being moved in. So the Great Lakes went from having 4 Final Four caliber teams to having 4 Final Four caliber teams. Looks like the only teams to benefit from this are Baldwin-Wallace and Wooster.

just got a call from the schep-dawg in which he told me he had his "dancin shoes" on!  like i didn't know already...i've been sitting on d3hoops all day!  we're proud as hell of our guys and hope for the best from both of our conference reps...let's turn some heads in the process damnit.

on to saturday....yeesh, what a game...AGAIN!  don't get me wrong, i hate losing to anyone, especially LU, but no complaints...no regrets!  the atmosphere all weekend was awesome and i've gained a mutual respect for and from some of LU fan (aspenson and grandma pat) in the process.  don't worry g'ma pat, we have a designated driver  ;)

the kilts go back to last year when we beat LU at home to finish the regular season.  basically the just of the morning was a keg and a braveheart dvd.  also significant...carroll was founded by scottish presbyterians.  our kilts last year were make-shift and marginal at best...but this year a dear mother of our football team Mrs. Harland made up a couple dozen of these things for us to wear with pride!  speaking of wearing them with pride, i'll be wearing mine all day tomorrow at school.  chicks dig them....

wallace...out

So are you saying B-W and WOOSTER got their ticket to Salem handed to them by the Commitee??? If so i would have to agree with you strongly.

Keep in mind that these are only the D3Hoops projections. However. Handing out Final Four bids like that strikes me as being very NCAA-like. I'm sorry the Great Lakes is so loaded this year but they should just learn to live with it like the Midwest Region does every year.
