This has been discussed here previously (i'm giving the credit on the first mention of this to Hoops Fan or Sager), so unless I'm crazy I do believe that LU is the 1st team in the history of the D3Hoops poll to start unranked (they were "Others Recieving Votes" in the pre-season poll) and finish ranked #1.

markerickson,
Carroll has become very adept at landing impact transfer players.  They feature three transfers in their starting lineup in Shceper( UW-Platteville), Toshner (Lakeland), and James Johnson (some low level d1).  Carroll's coach seems to have made landing transfers an important part of his recruiting plan every year.  Since he started at Carroll he has also landed Julian Shwartz (Wisconsin & UW-GB) and Monfre (UW-GB).  I for one do not mind the occassional transfer player, but I think to have as many as they have had goes against the values of the midwest conference and division 3 in general.

I saw nothing in the Previous Post that would cause DaHammer to say LU Breaks the Rules.I thought it was a very objective post by LU 05 and was right on point!!!!

LU 05, do your research a little better. All of the players you mentioned as far as transfers either played for Coach Schultz previously or played in the same conference that he coached in during his days as a high school coach.  Swartz and Monfre at Waukesha South (plus knew the coach for 10 years), Scheper Mukwonago HS and Toshner Arrowhead HS.  Johnson played for him during his AAU days with George Karl's Friends of Hoop team.  None were recruited in fact if you asked the players they would say they came to him and asked if there would be interest. Besides, when Coach Schultz got to Carroll in 03 they were coming off an 2-21 season were going to have trouble fielding a team with enough players.  So obviously you need bodies to compete, it was not like he was walking into gold mine ready to jump onto the national scene let alone become an MWC power.  My guess would be that as you build a program you can build from within.  But if people want to come to your I would think that would be a good sign.  But LU 05 don't let any facts get in the way of discrediting your opponents.  Maybe others should try to dig up some the illegal things that have gone on at LU in recent years? Careful where you throw stones.
