I didn't think anyone actually graduated from Ripon, but then again, I only know athletes from there.  :o

Considering the source, that's saying something!

As tempting as it is to say something about butter, I won't. Instead you may call me the bookmobile as I'm poetry in motion.

Not to mimic the angel gabriel, but i bring you all good news of great joy for well at least 350 people.  here's the skinny on the tickets.  NCAA rules mandate that tickets are alotted to both teams ie north central and saint thomas.  that would be 700 total!  Well, only one of those teams will be in the tournament after thursday night, meaning that approx 350 tickets (barring irrational behavior from the fans of the losing team) will be available.   THESE TICKETS WILL BE SOLD AT THE DOOR BEFORE THE GAME ON SATURDAY.   It may require a lot of waiting, but people like justin can have access here.  I believe they go on sale at 530pm, but get their earlier.  So to recap:  more tickets will become available per the losing team not using their tickets.  350 more of you can still get into Alex.  Furthermore, if youre not among the chosen, they will have a closed  circuit broadcast in the Green Room of alex that should accomodate further demand!

also, the tickets for each respective team are different colors than the general ones; thus, say saint thomas loses their (pick a color) color tickets would not work ie they cannot attempt to scalp them, merely pieces of paper they become!

These posts seem contradictory.  IF NCC and St. Thomas can sell Saturday tickets before Thursday's winner is determined, and IF (say) a St. Thomas ticket-holder wanted to attend (despite his team losing, but he is a big d3 fan in general) but was turned away at the door because the ticket is invalid, I want to be his attorney (and I'm not even a lawyer)!  That would perhaps be the most clear-cut consumer fraud case in history!

On the other hand, if tickets cannot be sold before the winner is determined, I would assume we are not talking about 700 seats, but rather 2 versions of the SAME 350 seats (in which case there still seem to be 400 seats unaccounted for).

Please clarify.

Yipsi hit on the same thing my roomie did...I personally think that there are only 350 allotted to the opposing school (whoever that ends up being).  But I wish I knew what happened to the mystery tickets...and to find out I'm sending myself on a mission like you've never seen.  ::)

I was directed to talk to the LU athletic dept to discuss the remaining 400 tickets.  The plot thickens!  :o  Perhaps they will honor the years I've lost of my voice from cheering with a complimentary set of tickets.  ;)

The mystery tickets are in a box at the LaGrange point between Jupiter and Io. The dimensions of the box are 1x4x9.

At a 2-team site, NCAA rules dictate that the host school gets 2/3 of the gym and 1/3 be given to the opponent.  For logistical purposes, Lawrence simply had to send an identical copy of 350 tickets to both potential Saturday opponents....they can only be distributed by the winning school.

The 350 number means that LU's official seating capacity is 1050.  A Sectional at Lawrence would get pretty dicey.  The home team gets half of the gym (525) and the other half gets split in 1/3 between the other 3 schools - that is just 175 per visitor.  Any returned tickets have to be split evenly among the teams requesting them, including the host.

Let's say the field is: Lawrence, UW-Whitewater, Puget Sound, and Augustana.  UW-W sells its 175 as does Augustana.  Puget Sound returns 100.  If Augustana is good with the 175 but Whitewater requests "as many more as possible", Lawrence and Whitewater would split the 100 returned.  So, the most Lawrence fans that could be there is 575 (525 + 50 more).

Augustana's Carver Center seats 3200...that would get interesting.

The seating capacity at LU is over 1500, with enhanced bleachers added last week.

2000, if that 350 figure being thrown around above is correct, than the official tournament capacity is 1050.
