Good read from today's Appleton Post Crescent about Lawrence's Keven Bradley.

I find it hard to believe that playing for Point would have been anything but fun... what an incredible, well-coached team, but still... OOOOUCH! :D

Ya, i was shocked to hear they Reduced the available tickets to 1100 for the game.Darn FIRE MARSHALL'S.Why did they do that, last weekend was nice and cozy.so that left 800 for LU.But as far as the Sectional goes if the get past their first game. They are talking to the NCAA about selling game by game. What i mean by that is.......playing one game clearing out Alex then playing the next.It Could work people. The Ncaa likes money and thats a way to make money and satisfy the LU Fans i think. But anyways.Whew, i got nervous yesturday, kinda lost my mind.Said i was sorry, and still lost Karma.LOL,i love it.

DAMN FIRE MARSHALL'S.Why did they do that, last weekend was nice and cozy.

So that in an emergency, people could clear the building safely. I think that's what fire marshals do. :)

Was Hinz in "Faces in the Crowd", or just in an article for his 50 and 36?

J,

Maybe I'm wrong, but if they upped the number of available seats, they probably would have upped the number the opponents get too.

Again, someone who knows can tell me, but it seems unfair that a visiting team would only get 350, even if the capacity was much larger (like at Hope).

Here are the NCCA Guidelines for Two-team Sites (which I am guessing Lawrence has been designated for the regionals):

The home team will receive two-thirds (2/3) of the facility seating capacity. The visiting institution is guaranteed a minimum of one-third (1/3) of the facility seating capacity using clearly identifiable tickets (separate color than home supporter or walk-up tickets) in suitable locations. Seating locations for the competing teams should be equally distributed by number and location. The visiting institution must notify the host institution in writing (via fax) of any of its ticket allotment it has not sold by:
• First-round contests: Wednesday, 5 p.m. local time of the host institution;
• Second-round contests: Saturday, five hours before tip-off, local time of the host institution.
• If the host is not notified by the visiting team by the prescribed times, the visiting team shall be financially accountable for its total ticket allotment.

Comments - The above guidelines are set by the NCAA.  Usually non-negotiable other than things like taking into consideration the intervention of the fire marshall (who is just dong his/her job) as previously cited on this board; other guidelines as the above is not all inclusive; and, the fact that the visiting team can, if it elects to be financially accountable,  pony-up for all their ticket allotment whether or not it has sold that allotment.

So its true, while more tickets would have been available had the capacity been set at 1400, there would not have been 400 tickets available to Lawrence.

I understand that but it would have been more than they did sell. Its really not rocket science here.If Lawrence gets more then the visitors get more.Thats understood.Im not a complete idiot.Jeepers!!!!! I guess my point was, that if they held a 4 team secional.Knowbody would get in but staff and students and family. If they clear out alex atleast some others would get in then!!!

That is true, there would be very few tickets in a four team sectional.  Big doubts about Lawrence getting to host.  That will make it much harder for them to beat Whitewater.

I heard the fire marshalls are vigilantes in Appleton.  Not rational.  It was not bad Saturday and the level was 1400.

Well, the fire marshal got in the paper, so they got their 15 minutes of fame.

I've never been to Larry U but honestly I thought Carver was bad...Sounds like you guys have a whole world of trouble with your facility

Harrison Ford did go to Ripon, however he did not graduate.....but if you get a chance, don't bring it up to him....kinda a sour subject.

Also, Dick Bennett went to Ripon.  He finished.

Hey Early, 8) the doublemint gum slash humpty dumpty twins went to RC, saw them this last year at a homecoming game.

P.S. The infamous Glock-9 went to RC too!! Badass!! 8)

From an LU student and fan perspective, LU is better off as a Two Team Site.  Under the Four Team Site Guidelines, the home team only gets 50% of the ticket allotment versus two-thirds (2/3) as a Two Team Site.

But if they sell as two different games in a 4 team sectional, they can work something out im sure that works.Theres always a way to make it work.
