Carroll layed an egg!!! I grew up in Waukesha, I played at Waukesha South (with Julian and
Greg) coach was the best coach in the STATE. He built Carroll to where it is now (not very far...how do you lose to a team THREE times and go ONE and out in the tourny that counts?) Coach can build a program but just like at Waukesha West...he can't win when it counts. He had the best player in state Brian Czarniak but he couldn't win in high school.

Carroll had their shot. That's all they're gonna get, I'm sure he told them that before the game. They missed a leader, That was their problem. Who's gonna step up? Drury? please. Drury is a B level player over achieving at a C level place. He's not that good.

He can make a jump shot but can he create his own shot? he lacks height, weight, a dribble. He doesn't have it. Coach got him open and he can hit a jump shot (aka. Steve Novak...just as much of a joke). They missed a leader.

I'm going to agree with OS on this one you guys are pretty hard on your team...you made it to the little big dance and you should be proud of that.  Regardless if you lost to a team three times in one season and went one and out in the tournoment.  Give your guys a break and celebrate the great season that they ahve had!

somebody call me when next season begins, OK? ;D

I agree with old school.  Carroll did not lay an egg.  IWU had more size and skill, Carroll would have had to have played a great game to beat them and we didn't get that kind of effort.  I am proud of the way the Pios player this year.  RMSW-  You are full of it,  Schultz is the best thing that has happened to Carroll basketball,  good coaches get their players in position to play in big games, the players have to take it from there.  Carroll didn't loss a game all year to a team that was worse than them, not that they couldn't have won a couple more (IE the one point loss to LU) but all of their losses were to very good teams.  RMSW- you must have been one of those excuse players who would blame losses on everyone but himself.

I'm not making excuses Old School, I'm just saying that IWU and Carroll should not have to face each other until the third round. However, that's how it goes in the Midwest Region.

Sounded like a good game on the webcast. My only criticism of the WJBC crew is that they predicted too many calls before the officials actually made them.

Roop:

Will you be at the Nickel tonight ?

I wanted to talk about a few NRO matters.

I will be wearing the camoflage high tops and the pink Under Armour shirt.

See you there.

Not unless my federal refund arrived yesterday and I can find a place to cash it today. A quarter tank, $6 to my name and no ticket doesn't bode well for a trip to Appleton today.

I have got to give out some props.

MWC4life, your take on LU over on the MIAC board is the best explanation I have seen on LU.  I have stated they win with attitude and with defense.  You stated it much more eloquently.  I am hoping that, like Gustavas last year, the MIAC just does not see the type of D that LU will through at them.  On paper, with all the D1 and D2 step downs, it would appear that St. Thomas is very talented.  NCC is a good team and  they handled them.

Old School, I think your description of the game last night between Carroll and Ill Wes. was dead on.  After watching Ill Wes., I really think they are the most talented team (does not mean they are the best) team in D3.  Unbelievable size and athleticism for D3.  Carroll played solid.  the only way they were going to win was if Drury had a huge game ( I do not think the shooting guards at Ill Wes. are as good as the other positions).   I sure as heck hope that if LU wins today as well as Wes., they let LU host the next round.

For LU to host you need to be rooting for Stout, Occidental and IWU in the other games tonight. Although I don't think it really matters if Puget Sound were to win. I don't think the NCAA would move three teams that far again.

You are thinking like me.  I do not think that it matters in the west, but I do worry about WW hosting if they make it to the next round.  I can't see them dragging everyone to Bloomington Ill, just so Ill Wes can have a big home crowd.  Going undefeated should count for something.

did anyone else notice that LU charged $10 for tickets and the other sites $6?  I think it takes any financial incentive away from taking the hosting from LU.  I agree with the decision.

LU must take care of business first against what appears to be a very good St. Thomas team (tommies......that nickname rivals the blueboys as the worst I have heard in awhile).

$10 tickets help makeup the loss of seats and revenue for the NCAA.Cause thats what its all about in the end.And i think LU could really host.Remember when they sent LU and Point out to PS,there was knowbody there. The Ncaa didnt make any money, but PS was the top seed that year. They earned the hosting right.Thats my reason,if they forgive the lack of money when they sent LU and Point out to PS,then they can forgive LU's lack of seating.Does this make any sense???

I think if Whitewater wins they will host. IWU is a little too far removed from everybody else that might be there to get it. Yes, it would mean that LU would have to travel but it's only 2 hours or so. It's a tough call any way you look at it. Who would be there to see an IWU-Augustana Championship game in Appleton.

Let's see who wins tonight so our list of theories is narrowed down a bit.

the minimum amount of people seated at a sectional per NCAA manual is 1000 people. Lawrence has earned the right to host it, though there will be a shortage of tickets, mark my words.... LU will host the sectional

falco1610

I hope LU dosen't host the sectional, if WW wins they are my pick to host.  A sectional hosted by WW at least will be accomodating to general basketball fans that want to see a good game.  I don't think WW would have trouble selling out 2600 seats.  When LU builds a gym with seating on both sides, then they can host a sectional.
