The Roop

March madness is what its all about.  I love it!  I made the trip to LU yesterday from the Madison area, some people may think its crazy, but it was great.  I left at 8:40am yesterday morning, worried it would take me a while to find the music/drama center and a friend suggested if I was there 11/2 hrs ahead, I should be fine.  I drove down college avenue/street at about 10:40 and there it was the music/drama center.  Awesome, found a parking spot real close and walked in.  I was pleasantly surprised to find I was about 80 deep in the roped off maze to get tickets, so I knew I would be successful.  The next couple of hours standing with basically strangers was very interesting and fun.  Some people, unlike me, came prepared with newspapers, magazines, books and even lawn chairs. The first people to arrive, got there at 8am, I think this was Justntymes fam, some of them were napping in their chair by 11:00.  There were 2 older ladies, whom haven't missed a home game yet this year, with all the web stats/rosters of both IWU & LU.  They were very concerned about IWU's size. Another lady was trying to payoff a couple little kids in tow with their parents, to  buy 4 extra tickets for her.  I think she succeeded.  Coach Tharp and company came with about 1 hour of waiting left, I thought it was very classy of him to thank everyone for waiting to support his team.  He took the time to talk to people in the  crowd and received an ovation.  I dont care if he looks like a weasel, thats class!  The last 30 minutes went really fast and at 12:30 on the button, the line moved very quickly and BAM, my tickets are in my hand!  I feel bad for the people that couldnt wait in line or did and got turned away.  Thats why, I hope Justntyme will be generous with his extras.  Im really looking forward to the game, because IWU handled a pretty good WW squad, but I think LU can take them. It will be a game to remember, and I'll be rooting for you LU :)

Your friend was certainly very wise in suggesting you get there so early, but if you spent that much time on the LU campus, where are the coed stories ???

typical that they dont put the picture up of the winner of the jostens that is in the MWC.  That doesnt surprise me at all, though we all know that men's basketball at the division 3 level is far more competitive than the womens.... ridiculous

Congrats to Bopper on his award.  I notice that the crack staff at d3hoops didn't bother to get a picture of him for the front page, but rather just used the pic the female player which had been up on this site some time ago.  One would think that such an honor would merit both being pictured...

PULL!

um, I mean "I feel pretty.  Oh so pretty..."   ;)

Congratulations to Mr. Braier on the Jostens Award - that's a big deal.  It's pretty cool that we have the "Academic All-American of the Year" going up against the Jostens Winner tomorrow night.  A credit to two very good schools and two very special players.

Seriously.

Get over it.  If there was a picture of Braier, you'd complain it wasn't big enough.  Geez.

Pat should just "admit" that there is a D3hoops.com conspiracy against the MWC just to shut you guys up.

We'll rotate. Do you see any other front-page stories with two images? There's a reason for that!

Geez, what a bunch of whiners. I should tell Pat Cummings not to bother covering your sectional since you obviously think we're biased against you.

D3hoops.com is not a full-time job for anyone associated with this site. I am at my day job. The release came to me at 3:00 and I could only deal with the photos I had on hand at work.

I looked at Lawrence's site and the two-year-old image of Braier they have posted is too small to go on our front page. When I get home tonight I will see if I have anything bigger on file, but on deadline, when we were given an exclusive two-hour window to get the news posted before anyone else, I was not going to be able to send a request for a photo and wait for it to arrive.

Frankly, I'm actually LESS inclined to spend any time trying to appease you axe-grinders now. I have a lot of work to do before leaving for games tomorrow morning and if I can save the 15 minutes this might take, I just might do it. We're going to have another lead story in about 12 hours anyway.

Pat,

I hardly think you need to explain yourself, to the MWC posters, or to anyone for that matter.  Apparently they forget, without you, this site wouldn't exist.

That would never happen.  The idea of covering an IWU (CCIW) victory over Lawrence is just too delicious for you....  IF Lawrence beats IWU, you would probably choose a picture of a consoled Titan rather than a victorious Viking.  Oh well, we've put up with it this long.  What's a few more games?

Oh man, the guy was on the committee that gave your star player the most prestigious award in basketball and you are still taking pot shots at him?

Way to bite the hand that feeds you.  >:( :-\ ???

Sam, come back and control your people please.  :D

Or he could just use that two-year old picture of Braier that's on that apparently updated Lawrence website.  :'(

Apparently it's a few more opportunities for you to complain and spout conspiracy theories.
