Oh man, both of my Championship Game teams lost tonight. I feel sorta dumb...

Congrats to Lawrence on a great season, and to Carroll too for representing the MWC so well. Good luck next year everyone.

Congratulations to LU on a GREAT season - 25-1 is NOT chopped liver!

I think IWU has FINALLY remembered what is was that made them the #1 earlier in the season - I can live with 6 losses if it ends with walnut-and-bronze! Go Titans!

Don't worry April, I had Lawrence over Hope too. Good thing VA Wesleyan and Amherst both survived scares, or I would have been in real trouble for the final four.

Well, I said after the first or second game of the season that I would post after the first LU loss (in response to someone complaning about LU fair weather fans)....so here I am...did not have any idea it would take 26 games to have to follow up.

Very good game tonight. Ill Wes. is tough and very big and athletic. LU played as good a half as they have all year in the first half. IN the second half, their offense bogged down like it does sometimes have tendicy to do.

I take pride in never bitching about refing, and I am not going to here. They played a big role in the second half, not necessarily trying to screw LU or anything, but they choose to really let it go. That favored the strong team physically which was Ill. Whole bunch of times that LU was bumped and traveling was called. Again, the way the game was called just happened to reward the more physical team.

Great season by LU. Something tells me that LU just lost to the national champ for the third straight year (unless Wes chokes, which they seem to do occasionally.....not sure how this team loses)

I really didn't think the officiating played a role in the game, whatsoever. I know you aren't "complaining"...I saw some ticky tack calls every now and then...but that's every game.

just so I am not mis-understood...I am just saying they chose to call the game loose, which happened to favor the more physical/athletic team....not saying it was wrong. I generally like a game that is not called to tightly and have gone on the record in the past that way. Wes. was the more gifted physical team.
