The Roop

Actually it will be N.R.O. University. Of course the graduates will refer to it as "The" N.R.O. University when they go on to play on Monday Night football and the like.  Similar tuition rates to the MWC schools of course, only that it's all self study. Send me $30,000 and I'll send you some lessons. Send another $30,000 and voila, you're a sophomore and so on and so forth.

Self study for now but I am hopeful of many campuses worldwide. I'm hoping to  found the main campus in Omsk sometime within the next 12 months.

N.R.O. University in Hawaii?? sign me up, I don't even need a campus visit, I'll wing it when I get there!

The Roop

Mark your calendars............... "The Roop" was wrong.

My prediction was that IWU would lose the championship in o.t. following a half court shot. So my theory of history repeating itself every 25 years was flawed. Or was it............................

Augie went 1-1 at the Final Four in 1981 and lost to the champion, having already beaten the #1 ranked team in the round of 16. Now, IWU has gone 1-1 at the Final Four 25 years later, losing to the champion and having also beaten the #1 ranked team in the round of 16.

In each case the CCIW representative started with a vowel, similarly the MWC representative started with a consonant. Hmmmmmm. So in 25 years #1 Viterbo will lose to Elmhurst in the round of 16. Obviously Viterbo is not in the MWC as yet but Beloit (B) second letter of the alphabet and Lawrence (L) 12th letter of the alphabet are. 10 letters separate them and V would be the next letter in the chain. So within the next 25 years Viterbo will join the MWC and achieve the #1 ranking.

What did Dan Russ and Brandon Adair and Tori Davis do to pass Braier? That's the question you should be asking.

Oddly enough, I vote on both committees. Braier was my choice for the Jostens Award, because it involved academics and community service.

The D3hoops.com All-American team involves neither academics nor community service. And you can direct all your venom at me. I don't hide behind a group of voters. Although I do gather the D3hoops.com people together in Salem over lunch and we do debate the All-American candidates and their inclusion and placement, in the end, I stand behind the decision.

WHAT A CROCK OF ****.YOU AND YOUR VOTERS HAVE AND ALWAYS WILL HAVE NO RESPECT FOR THE MWC.You belong right along side the asshole  IWU calls a coach.Yes he is an asshole.I listened to his post game news conference and all he did was say how his guys didnt do this and didnt do that instead of giving credit to for what LU did to his guys in for3/4 of the game. And when some other coaches heard what he said, namely a NCAA regional voter. They said thats typical of him. He's a D-1 coach, working in D-III and is nothing more than an arrogant ass.And i quote "ARROGANT ASS". You seem to be right in the same catagory in MHO now pat.Thats thats putting it nicely Colman!!!!!!

I'm not worried. And you're not coming off as having a very humble opinion either. :)

On Saturday night, Chicago (Simeon) beat Peoria (Richwoods) in a tight overtime game for the IHSA Class AA State Championship.  Here's why this might be somewhat interesting to some people on here: former Grinnell scorer Steve Wood is an assistant coach for Richwoods (where he played his HS ball) and the final score to the championship game was 31-29, in OT!  I'm sure Steve has adjusted back to non-system basketball these days, but how strange must it be for him to be only a couple years removed from Grinnell and playing in "the system" to being an assistant coach in a game where the final score combined to be a total of 60 points!

Anyhow, back to the complaining! :D

That is a truly amazing bit of trivia!  I graduated from Richwoods (40 years ago :(); back then, that final would usually not even be a half-time score!  Greg Sager indicated that the slow-down was by Richwoods, desparately trying to stay with a superior Simeon team.  I suppose you gotta do what you gotta do, but maybe Steve can help the Knights get back to real bball - system or otherwise!
