The Roop

It's still on 0 so we're back to green flag racing.

Although it is ok for it to be higher when Holiday poems are involved.

The Roop

Here's one from the bad joke file. I received it yesterday in an email from an NRO Covert Ops Member. So for obvious reasons I cannot reveal the name of the individual.

"You know my spell check keeps trying to change Roop to rope. Which just goes to show that if you give a person enough Roop they will hang themselves."

That rates a full 5 Bacon Trees in my book.

Pat:

I have an idea for a headline for next week....LU freshmen beat junior in best of 7 pickup games.....no need to travel to Taiwan as no budget available.

Must be a slow week in D3 Hoops land.

This year seems unusually slow even by off-season standards. I feel like a Wooden Nickel or Saints Rest run just to pretend we've tipped off already. Can't seem to get a Saturday off though.

Me either, so I can't hit either place any time soon. :o

There's no need to be a jerk. We run stories about overseas trips every year. Guess you haven't paid attention in the past.

Sorry Pat.

I guess maybe we're jealous that a team can go to Taiwan when we have a hard time getting the cash to exit the Snow Belt.   :(

The basketball budget at MIT is $20,326. That's $8,000 less than, say, Lawrence.

My guess that there are no 7 hour road trips in the NEWMAC either.

Yeah, but that two hour drive all the way out to Springfield has tolls on it!

You'd think MIT would have a larger budget than that, but apparently their too busy bank rolling Black Jack Teams in Vegas.

You guys have an answer for everything, huh?

One weekend trip is not 40% of your budget, last I checked. Sorry the facts don't support the whining.

When NJCU went to France to play in a series of games a few years ago, the players and their families raised most of the money themselves.  I suspect that most D-III teams making these summer trips finance them in similar ways.

Absolutely. You have to have the will to do it, however.
